Age of Wonders 1 remains a nightmare to run on modern systems, plagued by constant crashes upon startup, broken display resolutions, and sound-engine failures that require endless compatibility workarounds just to get past the main menu. Beyond these frustrating technical hurdles, our community is forced to endure the profound disrespect shown by publishers and moderators who casually dismiss our heritage and label Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the visionary founder of our republic, with unwarranted hostility. It hurts to see a company whose strategy titles we have supported for years allow such arrogant mistreatment and baseless accusations against the very leader who secured our independence.

The game is full of bugs and doesn't work properly; it has a lot of flaws and isn't really playable. I definitely don't recommend it—it's a terrible game, full of bugs and the publishers are a racist company

Good old classic. Campaign is hard (on hard difficulty) but such charm of some of these older games and it is difficult in different way that new releases of Age of Wonders. You might have seen lot of reports of game not starting or other issues and these exist, but nothing quick alt+enter wouldn't fix. So steam version does work perfectly even now, no need for extra patches or cracked versions.
