Enjoyment: 8/10
This is the first AoT game I've played, and coming from a Spider-man fan, the mechanics here are arguably even more fun. Honestly I didn't know what to expect before I started. I had strong doubts and figured the movement was gonna be janky considering it's a game developed by Koei Tecmo. I've played many of their anime games before and the gameplay is usually repetitive with some pretty rough animations. It's rare I played one that's actually innovative. And true to that, this game does have the Koei formula with similar elements to the Warriors franchise and the same repetitive loop. That said, I still found the gameplay super fun. The camera and controls felt weird at first but quickly became a lot more natural. Swinging around like the Spider-man games is very satisfying. The difference is that in Spider-man you usually switch from free-roam to a beat 'em up brawler when initiating combat. Here the combat is seamless with the ODM movement where you're killing titans while still moving, which makes the experience a lot more immersive and engaging. The story mode is a summary of Season 1 of the anime. It's a really rough recap so I recommend watching th…

Very fun game and I love it. Playing on PC provides a unique challenge that playing with a controller doesn't have, that being key bindings. You can't use your mouse in the game but that's not stopping me from finding solutions to turning the camera. That and the cutscenes are next to 1-to-1 to the anime story wise. I'm so damn grateful that I'm able to live in the time period where we get A.O.T. in general.

The game is fun and does a good job capturing the Attack on Titan experience, but it starts to feel repetitive after a few missions. If you're deciding between this and the sequel, I'd recommend going straight for A.O.T. 2, as it offers more content, better mission variety, and improved visuals. Despite that, this game is still enjoyable on its own. The achievements, however, almost drove me insane,i usually like 100% completing games, but this one really tested my patience. Overall, it's still a solid experience. 8/10
