About Battle Train
ROGUELITE ON RAILS
Battle Train brings classic roguelite design to the tracks with fast-paced duels, branching paths, and floor-based progression packed with bosses, special events, and escalating stakes. Each run is a strategic loop of resource management, risk-reward decisions, and deck refinement as you unlock powerful cards, new characters, and upgrades in the evolving metagame.
LINES OF TRACK, LINES OF FIRE
In Battle Train, strategy isn't just in your hand, it’s under your wheels.Connect your tracks to your opponents’ outposts and blast them before they do the same to you.
Every piece of track matters: special rails boost your trains, barricades slow down enemies, and bombs can swing the tide with a single move.
Positioning is power, but so is control. Claim resource mines for turn-based income, steal enemy tracks to cut their flow, or detonate their plans with explosive abilities.
CHOOSE MAYHEM
Adapt your playstyle in every run and then push it further, with evolving card rewards and powerful upgrades that shape your strategy turn by turn.Your train is a full-blown war machine built from swappable parts, each offering unique stat boosts, passive effects, mineral gains, or disruptive abilities.

It's a fun puzzle game that's unique. On the wokeness scale the character randomizer is very bad. You'll get female names with male voices and character models. Update: After 5 hours I had a run that was doing well enough to progress but because I hadn't unlocked all 52 story cutscenes I can't progress unless I grind a bunch of more runs. This artificial increase in game length plus the mismatched voices of the characters is enough for me to change my review to a negative. The core game is fun but I feel like I've already seen it all and instead of letting me win, the game wants me to do chores first.
It's a shame that this wonderful game didn't get more attention. This great indie game has a really good and entertaining story to offer. I backed it on Kickstarter back then and wasn't disappointed. For me, it's one of the best card games of recent years.
FUN game but some major design issues. Good first: This game is actually a lot of fun, the puzzle piece design of tracks is an interesting mechanic, and its always satisfying to actually fill up space the most efficient way while also blocking your own stuff while also reaching into enemy territory but not too much at the same time... it offers a lot of really interesting play / counterplay and general strategy. HOWEVER, This game's progression is designed in a way where it feels like it does not want you to play it. The hard lock progress barriers are SO ANNOYING. And so obvious too. Its the main thing that makes this game hard to come back to. The first time you play, you will maybe beat the first boss? Unlikely, but even if you do you definitely wont have the cards or HP left to get very far in the next stage, and most definitely not have good enough cards to do enough damage. And who designed this path choice system? choose from one of three routes at the beginning... then keep going on that path until the boss? Why even bother? And, once again, the game pretty much forces you to just always choose the path of least resistance, because the risk reward for fighting enemies…
Very good game with explosions, trains, explosions, a cool story, explosions... and... more explosions! :D And I really loved the story!!!

While the story is a bit slow to get through, the turn based strategy card roguelike with train elements is explosive fun.
