Before We Leave

A nice game for a few hours. Its simple and the mechanics work well. Later it does become a bit repetitive, but those who like its core gameplay loop and want a more casual experience will enjoy it.

I prefer a game with a story. This game also has incredibly irritating music.

As with most city builders, it starts out fine but then gets tied up in knots of "you can't do this, you can't do that." I'm tired of trying to untangle all the requirements to do the next thing.

Not a bad game - it's a city crafting-focused city builder. It starts off easy but gets a bit more complex as you discover new mechanics, without becoming too overwhelming, though it still requires some brain power. It took me 45 hours to complete the main campaign, and I think the game is well worth the $30 asking price, even if I bought it on sale. The main campaign is entertaining, but personally, I don't feel like playing anymore after 45 hours. I feel like I've experienced everything the game has to offer, even though there are additional campaigns, scenarios, and achievements left to complete. For the price, it's a gem, and overall I'd give it a 7.5/10.

When Simcity and Civilization have a kid and he wants to become an astronaut. If you like the parents, you will probably enjoy this offspring.

Great game! I played this on gamepass a few years ago and it really kept me busy and entertained when I was unemployed. I totally forgot the name of the game or I would have gotten it on steam sooner-- was so happy to find it again! This game does a magnificent job of getting you to comfortably juggle multiple management mechanics. You set up an island, then that island can create resources that the next island needs-- the shipping and resource balancing is amazing, I love it so much, very fun mechanic to manage and play with. While I only just got the steam version today, I definitely logged a few dozen hours on the xbox version-- and that was without even dipping into the space mechanics! So to be clear, I can't vouch for any of the space or beyond mechanics. I would imagine there are more planets to explore and you could just keep growing and growing. The only flaw that this game has, and its a great flaw, is it feels like it could go on forever. It's something that makes it very engaging and fun to play, but also, if you take a moment to get up and leave the game for a second, it's easy to get overwhelmed when you come back like "woah, I'm in the middle of SO MUCH right now!"
