About Bounty Star
Bounty Star is an over-the-shoulder 3D action game that marries mech combat and customization with farming and base building. The player takes on the role of a broken but powerful ex-soldier named Clem, a war veteran, talented fighter and expert mech pilot. Clem attempts to shed the guilt and shame of her past and become a legitimate force for good in the Red Expanse, a post-post-apocalyptic version of the American Southwest.

You pilot the Desert Raptor MKII, a Mech of extraordinary power. It is a highly-customizable battle vehicle that can be equipped with a variety of offensive systems: heavy, high-powered melee weapons, steam powered hydraulic siege weapons, explosive firearms, and more. It can also be equipped with a variety of defensive systems; high-speed thrusters, boosters for dashing, riot shields, among others.

The Red Expanse is a rich farming and mercantile region plagued by violent criminals and dangerous beasts. The government that remains outsources justice to experts like Clem—bounty hunters who are free to pursue their targets into whatever dangerous corners of the world they hide. She'll fight her way through many corners of the region and deal with these marks as she sees fit.

Clem comes into an isolated and run-down garage that serves as a suitable base of operations and home—just barely. Build out water and power supply lines, grow and cook food, produce ammunition and fuel for combat, and raise animals. This decrepit ruin has a lot of potential, but it will have to grow alongside Clem.

Good game! but I hope there be more freedom of customization...3 found this helpful
This is honestly tough to recommend. I bought this game when it came out after catching a glimpse off it maybe a month or so before it was released. A Mecha game with some sort of farming attached to it? sign me up! Unfortunately the game didn't really scratch that itch as well as i thought it would. The Story itself is actually pretty interesting, and it made me come back to the game 9 or so months after i bought it, because i kept looking at it in my library and wondering how Clems story ended, so eventually i booted it back up. That's the only reason i thought to play it again, other than the fact i had already bought it. The game is too janky for me and is overburdened by the same mechanics that make it sound appealing. As i stated, the story, voice acting, style and lore, drew me into the game, but actually playing it turned me off of it a few times, the combat can be extremely clunky at times, the actual farming part of the game is so tedious for the most part that i didn't use any of it for a majority of the game, it's mostly there to save you money after missions, but if you do the sub objectives frequently it mostly doesn't need to be done. [Bounty Star] 100% Completion Review Score: 7/10 [PRO'S]: -Good protagonist who is well written and voice acted -Good Npc and enemy designs -Good voice acting and fully voice acted -Good western environments -Good western music and jukebox soundtracks -Good gameplay that consists of completing low bounties "Side quests" and high bounties "Main Quests" to make money and salvage materials with each bounties having it's own set of sub goals for extra cash if you complete them, along with various loot chests hidden through each bounty map -Has a mech that you can customize with lots of different weapons, both melee and gun and various parts that will give your mech different passive abilities and also it's color and various other things as they become unlocked as you play and meet new Npcs -Good combat that is mainly mech combat in three different environments morning, noon and night each having their own temperature that effects your mech as your mech will need to stay cool to stay functional, weapons can both be hot or cold which makes what you use during what time strategic -Has a workshop, which is your homebase, that you can upgrade over time to give you different benefits such …1 found this helpful
Only just finished chapter 2 and i've got a short list of first impressions. The Good: Games got a consistant art style that fits well with the theme. It has Mechs. Buying required items from the crafting menu is a god send. Mech combat feels the right amount of clunk while still feeling good. Soft aim snapping, feels good but not too hand holdy. Voice acting, really good, like someone went out and found people who knew how to actually voice act. The Neutral: Yeehaw Banjo Music, this really isn't my thing and i'm not a fan of being forced to listen to it at home base, just give me a mute/turn off button that doesnt kill all music. Pacing, the game feels like it skips too much too fast and doesn't even give you a chance to warm up in the mech before it's all over. The Player model, something about clem have massive flipper style eyelashes throws me off everytime. The Bad: Intro cutscenes doesn't support ultra-ultra wide, black bars cover names and some names are off screen. Voices in cutscenes are inconsistent, prologue was normal but after the intro cutscene it got noticably louder. Movement when on foot feels strange, probably because clem can't turn on the spot. No jump button…1 found this helpful
