About BULLET SOUL
A brand-new recipe for the shooting genre which blends classic shooting game design with a generous dash of modern day bullet-hell and flashy pyrotechnics: this soul food dish has it all! Play for survival and learn how your enemies behave, then switch to a more aggressive play style, and see your score sky rocket: destroying enemies at close quarters to build your multiplier, and see their bullets rendered harmless. Scour the stages for secret bonuses to push your score to even greater heights.
Music and Art
Bringing even more heat are Resonator: the moniker of aural wizards Kenji 'Itoken' Ito (Romancing SaGa series) and Kohta Takahashi (Ridge Racer and Ace Combat series), setting fire to your speakers with their tunes. Last but not least, Akio Watanabe lends his skills to the scene, bringing forth some fresh character designs.
Story
Mecha-warl, an empire of evil, who would use their military might to conquer space itself.
This is the tale of the brave few who stood against their threat.
Zenichi, the lone space pirate out for revenge.
Yun, the galaxy patrol officer charged with wiping out Mecha-warl.
Sadahl, the monarch who would challenge Mecha-warl in a bid for glory.
And Loop, continuing the battle for Earth, long after its defeat.
And so begins the struggle upon which the fate of space itself rests...
Decent shmup with great soundtrack and lots of different enemies. Amazing visuals and engaging wave patterns. 3 characters to choose from. Challenging bosses that will make you scratch your head and think - what the heck is that? One of the key elements in gameplay is that enemy's bullets disappear when you take them down. Make sure to check out the sequel. Japanese vibes inbound!
27 found this helpful
I used to own Bullet Soul on XBOX360, but stupidly traded-in the game years ago. The Microsoft XBOX store version is region-locked, so Steam is the only way to go now.4 found this helpful
Just saying, but I do have a curator page. If you like my remarks about games, you can find more of them here: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/44130985-TDP%27s-Gaming-Escapades
Bullet Soul is one of those games that if it runs, you are an incredibly lucky person; Because if it doesn't, only god knows how many solutions you have to try before either giving up and refunding the game or finally succeeding. Never in my life I had to go above and beyond to fix the launch issues of a video game. Everytime I thought I had fixed this game, another issue took its place. Only by pure chance I was able to finally get this game to run normally... And I went through all that FOR WHAT?!!!!
We have Crimzon Clover at home
Bullet Soul's gameplay has an emphasis on playing aggressively, destroying hordes of enemies with high firepower. It constantly encourages you to kill enemies as fast as possible, rewarding you with tons of points in doing so. The ships you control are also pretty fast to move around, allowing you to cover the whole screen with your attacks with ease. And complimenting the gameplay is a very well-composed & catchy soundtrack. This should h…1 found this helpful
I rate Bullet Soul 3.5/5. Pretty good. (If you are in a big hurry you can stop reading here) However, the main TL;DR section begins right here: This is a pretty good vertical scrolling, arcade-style shmup game. While fairly short, this game doesn’t really do anything seriously wrong (other than make it apparently impossible to rebind the keys if you are using a keyboard (but the default keys are fairly intuitive once you figure out what they are)). Bullet Soul has good features (except when it comes to menus related to controls), responsive controls (once you figure out what they are), adequate graphics with a good sense of speed, adequate (though bland) music/sound, good (but somewhat bland) enemies and (asides from not being able to bind keyboard keys to a custom configuration) doesn’t do anything really irritating (it doesn’t force you to unlock characters, grind anything or give you a limited number of ‘continues’ when you die). This is a good little game for casual and serious arcade game players alike. The TL;DR section is now over. If you are in a hurry you can stop reading now. The early stages is quite easy, the later levels is better.
