Battle is button smash while your party dies because they have poor AI. Choosing "balance MP" means use it all and then run the rest of the fight, while "don't use MP" means facetank the enemy with your staff and die. A lot of needless mechanic of fishing, thousands of crafting (cook, blacksmith, book writing and whatever else you can think of) just to add content that aren't really useful.1 found this helpful

Great port of the original that fixes some of the character balance issues from the PS1 game.
Absoluetly what you expect in a remake without ruining the game i've got about 10 hours right now and cant wait to play more. Skills are way easier to understand and i like the added assault mechanic with the other protaganist is from the other games.
I had not played this game before and found it to be really fun. The story have its moments and chars are charming and unique. Im very keen the play the other games from this series :) Played on the Steam Deck.
Perfect from start to finish, if you love experimenting and crafting in your game this game is incredibly addictive with its IC system. Story is good too. 9/10
