Cook For Love

Ive been waiting to try Cook For Love, mostly because the reviews are all over the place. The artwork tho? completely won me over, and was the reason i decided to finally give it at go. The gameplay is very simple, and so are the recipes! Alot of dishes to make, but after a while they do start to feel a little repetitive. I dont wanna lie, i did get a bit bored halfways through. The thing that kept me going was unlocking the finished dish illustrations. They are really cute, and I found myself thinking, "Just one more recipe... I need to see what the next one will look like!" (I also took SO many screenshots lmao) The game only took me about 2.5 hours to get 100% achievements, though ive seen friends finish it anywhere between 1.5 and 2.5 hours. Now... About the price....... 15.79 euro?! plus there is DLCs? They arent necessary (Thank god) but for that price? You could at least have added the 'colorful stove' DLC lmao If steam would let me leave a neutral review, I probably would. It is definitely a cute little cozy game, and if you get it on a [u]good![/u] sale, I think you will have a couple of relaxing hours with it. But at full price, I do really not recommend it. AT ALL.

The game overall is a cute and relaxing cooking game with a charming art style and cozy atmosphere. I really like the adorable characters, bright colors, and relaxing music. However, the gameplay becomes repetitive very quickly. Most of the time, you are just picking up ingredients and moving them around. There isn't much actual cooking, and the recipes do not change much as you continue playing. I was hoping for more variety and more things to unlock, but the dishes started to feel very similar.

You play as a chef at a Parisian restaurant in this cooking sim with beautiful, soft, pastel-toned hand-drawn art. The drinks and desserts are gorgeous! They look so lovely, I had to stop to admire them and take loads of screenshots! I really enjoyed the charming art style. The dialogue is not great: it's very hollow and mundane, yet there's too much of it. I'd prefer if the characters' expressions were shown rather than written in brackets. It reads like a role-play and focuses too much on telling rather than showing. Maybe it's for accessibility, but it could've been done in a different format, with dialogue and storylines separately. The prequel had more animations. There are some improvements, but also some similar issues to the prequel, "Tell Me Your Story". This game has more stages, which is great. However, the controls are very clunky and quite unintuitive. Mouse clicks don't always register the first time, and due to a small delay with every single click, the progress is slow. The music was way too loud and had to be adjusted. It can't be adjusted mid-level, but instead all the way from the main menu. The level menu is very limited, featuring only a "next" button with …

Art style is beautiful, graphics and visuals are great. But the gameplay is very boring, very simple in a bad way. Recipes and cooking are really not the forte of this cooking game. I'm glad I got it on sale, so it's not a massive loss. Still disapointing.

sloooooowwww repetitive gameplay. Art is super cute and what made me get this game but honestly watching paint dry would probably be less boring than this game. Please add a navigation menu or smth bc there are so many stations and I sit there clicking the arrow button and waiting 1 sec for it to move to the next station then arrow then 1 sec arrow 1 sec arrow 1 sec like omfg I'm gonna rip my hair out.
