About Cursed House 3

Cursed House 3 - compared to Cursed House 2 - is not so much a continuation of the series, but rather a completely new game. A new bonus system. New mechanics. A new house that needs to be cleansed of evil spirits. New levels and completely new gameplay compared to the first two parts, which now has little in common with competing Match 3 games, and will diverge even further from them in the future.

It's still too early to consider the third part a full-fledged Match 3 Puzzle, but these elements are already appearing.

The game includes:

completely new game logic (compared to parts 1 and 2) and 85 Match 3 levels
a new house to be cleansed of evil spirits
bonus games including Solitaire, Spot the Difference, and Hidden Object scenes

"Cursed House 3" is an atypical match-3 game with minigames as bonus. It runs flawlessly and it will stimulate your brain! A very tricky match-3 with power-ups and unique ways to solve the puzzles. You get to banish the evil creatures and through the use of an ancient amulet that you slowly power up, to restore the house to its former glory! The game contains a variety of minigames such as Spot the Difference, Hidden Objects and Solitaire. The levels themselves are hard but leave an impression and above all they are fun. So you will be glad it wasn't a piece of cake that required no thinking and ended in 10 minutes. The visual effects, animations and music will help a lot in keeping you calm and focused on the task at hand. If you are stuck, you can use the hint system, which I find very good, comprehensive and helpful. On top of that, they have added a beautifully crafted grimoire as help. It will keep you busy for hours but without overstaying its welcome and you can always replay it due to its nature. One of the most fun and intriguing match-3 puzzle games out there. This is the first Cursed House game which adopted the format seen in most of the series with puzzle-M3 levels and minigames every 3 or so levels. There are 85 M3-puzzle levels, and many of the gadgets seen in later games were introduced here, along with the detailed help book in the top left corner. The graphics are a little cruder, and sometimes there are 2 different playing tiles which are tragically too close in color tone to each other. But I did like that some of the tiles have animations. While a lot of the widgets longtime Cursed House fans know are present, the puzzles lack the sophistication seen in later releases. There is only one powerup, and you must create at least 3 powerup tiles with larger matches before matching the powerup tiles to blow things up. A good part of the strategy with many levels is blowing things up in just the right places, so this powerup mechanic is as much frustration as it is different. The bugs crawl around silently here, but I can still hear the raspy noise they make in later games in my head. ;) The first few levels have a lot of "nannying" with pop-up help hints showing up. The minigames are HOS, solitaire, and spot the difference sc…

A welcome change from the other Cursed House games (and now I've played all 15). There's only one type of power-up, where 3 (or more) of them in a row trigger an explosion. The levels are fairly simple; as always, there are a few simple mini-games, but you can skip them if you want. If the game is on sale (€3-4), it's recommended; otherwise, stay away.

This is a solid and challenging Match 3 puzzle game with power-ups and nicely crafted levels. I would say this is the most challenging of the Cursed House games so far.
