Dark Light, developed and published by Mirari & Co., is a side-scrolling action RPG that blends cyberpunk science fiction, post-apocalyptic horror, and souls-like combat into a dark and oppressive experience filled with tension and atmosphere. Set in a ruined world consumed by supernatural corruption and violent creatures, the game places players in the role of a Dark Hunter navigating the remains of civilization while searching for answers hidden within endless decay. While heavily inspired by the punishing structure of souls-like games and the exploration-focused design of metroidvanias, Dark Light succeeds because of its striking visual identity and its commitment to creating a world that feels genuinely hostile and mysterious. The setting immediately establishes the game’s strongest quality: atmosphere. The world is filled with ruined cities, abandoned laboratories, corrupted industrial zones, and monstrous creatures that appear to be fused with machinery and flesh. Neon lights flicker through darkness while ruined technology and grotesque biological horrors dominate the landscape. Every location feels infected by something unnatural, creating a constant sense of danger even d…5 found this helpful
This is a very good game. Not perfect, but fun, and well crafted. Weapons are cool, enemies and bosses also. Atmosphere is great.2 found this helpful

Dark Light has been under my radar for years. Even when on discount I didn't buy it, I dont know why. Perhaps it was that feeling of "jankiness" that sometimes is a hit or miss on some games. And then I buy it. And, you know? Is janky. But the good type of janky. Something that I really appreciate is that the character movements are precise, fast and intuitive. Is not the type of game that turns platform gameplay in a real hell. The combat is fun and gives enough room for experimentation. You can go full melee (the fun way) or ranged, or a mix of both, or go full on skills. The challlenge is ok. Feels like a balanced soulslike. Boss can felt overwhelming but that is the initial impression. Sometimes you can even tank them. Also I think Dark Hunter-07 is a badass. Looks like an explorer of the deep abyss. Is like a mix of Hunk from RE and The Assassin from "Mad Dog". Simple, basic but perfect for this world. A cool design.
Im a sucker for this artstyle, its takes a little bit from multiple sci fi and horror genres and makes it own unique palette. I wouldnt really call its a souls like, maybe it has a few elements, its most hack and slash, kinda metroidvania game, the UI, some animations among other things might be a little janky, but the sum of its parts were fun as hell
Cool.
