About Deep Among the Swarm
A challenging survival RTS roguelite about surviving against thousands of enemies. Start each run with the hopes of going as deep as you can. Customize your army with different weapons, armour and upgrades. When you inevitably fail, use the knowledge gained to make your next attempts stronger through meta progression upgrades.
Hold your ground
Once you start fueling your drill, a massive swarm of monsters will attack you. Setup defensive barricades and choke points to survive.
Expand your Base
Clear out and expand into as much of the darkness as you can. The more resources you control, the more powerful you can become. Your goal is to collect as much Radium to fuel your drill as you can. The more you collect, the deeper you can go.
Customize your units and buildings
After every level, all units and buildings can be customized with different weapons, armour and upgrades. The better you do in each mission, the more currency you have to craft new equipment.
Meta Progression
Defeat is inevitable, but after each loss unlock powerful meta progression to become stronger. The further down you go, the more meta progression you will get, and the more powerful you can become!
Drill ever deeper into the unknown!
As you descend you will face increasingly more powerful enemies. Do you have what it takes to survive what lurks below?
Thousands of units
The unrelenting assault of the swarm is upon you. Can you survive long enough?

The gameplay itself is enjoyable, but the way the game is set up isn't, which is why I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who doesn't want to invest 50-100 hours+ into a game like this. The game progresses with digging down. Once you lose you'll have to start all the way up from the top again and you'll get to unlock some meta progression that lets you go a little deeper the next time, or make the rounds a bit faster. The individual gameplay levels take way to long to have this be an enjoyable grind, so it just ends up being frustrating.1 found this helpful
Peak, 10/10. The game knows what it wants to be and nails it in every way.
I can't tell if it's a bug or intended, but literally invincible, invisible enemies will teleport to your HQ and instantly kill it. Game is literally unplayable.
Just didn't grab me, it has serious problems with the execution. Resources fill so fast that it feels like you need to constantly be pausing to queue research / energy spreaders which is just annoying. There's almost zero depth in the resource economy. Aside from the body factories, you just build mines/energy plants on their respective tiles and move on. It suffers from the roguelite curse where it takes 30-60 minutes of play in a run for the game to become harder than dead easy.
It has that nice meta progression feel for a quick RTS where you're mostly just positioning troops to defend or purge an area. Good value for the price. Wouldn't mind more depth to the meta progression and structures though, but overall great value and gameplay.
