About Defenders of the Omniverse

Defenders of the Omniverse is a reverse bullet hell/survivors game with the vibes of the 80’s Saturday morning cartoons, where you take control of heroes from all across the realms of the Omniverse and battle the vile hordes of the Dark Wizard Umbros!

Features

  • Battle hordes of enemies, like radioactive wasteland cyborg orcs or metal-skinned space Vikings and many more!
  • Play as mighty heroes, each with their own passive bonuses and unique Ultimate Ability!
  • Confront the Ultimate Final Boss, the Dark Wizard Umbros himself, who has random abilities and attacks each time you meet him!
  • Test your mettle in epic battles with giant bosses.
  • Hand-crafted vibrant art style, inspired by the colorful comic books and cartoons from the 80’s!
  • Collect various powerful weapons and items to create your own devastating builds to crush the foul legions of Evil!

I am giving this game the most *tentative possible* positive because I would feel bad giving it a negative, but if I'm being honest this game should probably stay in your Wishlist or Follow for now, because it just isn't there yet. Graphically and aesthetically this game is great, it's got all the 80's saturday morning cartoon charm it looks like it has. In terms of play, it needs some kind of radical addition to make it more interesting, because as it is it is just a slow, very simple Garliclike with nothing to recommend it over the 1000 other games coming out in the genre besides the aesthetic. What that element should be, I don't know, but I hope the devs have something in mind; otherwise with games like Death Must Die and Hall of Torment out there it will ultimately fail to stand out. That said, I don't regret spending my money and won't be refunding. It's clear the devs have something they believe in here, and I'm looking forward to seeing what it is. If you think so too and want to support them, that is a good reason to spend your money on the game.
