Demonpact: Clarice

This game is like a movie from the early 2010s that you would suggest to a friend but have to add "just keep in mind it's a bit... of its time." except this game came out in 2020. The actual fights are whatever and it's pretty easy to accidentally make really OP teams that just blast through everything with actually zero effort, but no one plays RPG maker games for the combat. The story and interactions are entertaining/interesting and there are a lot of little hidden things for you to explore and find. There is way more content in this game than you would expect from a free game. And for the price of free I think it is for sure worth your time to at least give the game a shot. I'd probably even pay a dollar or two for this, which seems like what they went with for their next game.

Very good. The battle system is very fun, there's no annoying grinding, and the writing is a great mix of self-aware edginess and earnestness. The characters are great and have a lot of personality. I love stories that take their premises to the logical conclusion no matter how deranged it winds up, and this story is definitely one of those. Hilarious, shocking and depressing. Things can go down very differently depending on your choices. It's not always obvious how critical some things are. It's pretty wild just how bad things can get too. There is SO MUCH variation and so many little details to discover. The game is CRAMMED. I do wish it had proper joypad support and fullscreen, but easily solved with joy2key or whatnot

i mostly played the itch.io version so my real hours are higher. this does not deserve to be free, the amount of effort put into this is kind of insane. if you're a fan of BAD ♥♥♥♥♥ BLASTERS, you need to play this one too. the art, music, character design, and writing are all peak. the combat and teambuilding was particularly enjoyable. it has an authentic and uncensored feel you just don't find in most games without them being some edgy chudlord slop. criminally underrated game by a goated and based girldev. play it now !!

I wasn't expecting this to be as good as it was, but it was a very strange and fun game. Love the artstyle and the humor.
