short story with decent art, but still enjoyable1 found this helpful
I don't want to date the boys but it keeps making me date the boys.
Dream & Sugar is a very short but wholesome story with a really relaxing ambience. The jazz and white noise backgrounds were very soothing and the characters (Riley, Hugo, and Bennett - as well as the smaller NPC appearances) are really charming with simple but well-written dialogue. I highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a story with insightful dialogue, wholesome romance but also the option to stay single and pursue friendship without offending the characters, and gameplay breaks where you can make your own digital art! My only criticism is that there are some errors in the gendering of some dialogues - some paths automatically assume that you are female even if you're playing as a male-presenting MC with gender neutral pronouns, which isn't a huge gripe but did kind of take me out of the moments a little when it happened. It wasn't consistent across the whole game though - most of the time the pronouns and everything were correct, so it took me by surprise when one of the NPCs called me "young lady". Initially I thought that it was going to be a roleplay moment where I could choose to correct them or let it slide, but then it just moved on and the MC had no co…
There was a lot that was amazing about this game, including the voice acting and the song. I took the Hugo route, and the banter was really funny and cute. The background music was nice. But some things that could have been better: SPOILERS BELOW ... ... ... ... ... ... Apparently the MC gets into a fight with Hugo in a way that impacts their relationship. I didn't even realize there was a fight, or what the fight was about. It's also just a little short to get invested in the characters and the plot.
my amogus won me the art gallery
