About Edgar's Poetical Nightmare
Edgar's Poetical Nightmare is a steampunk-inspired 2D platformer. After being thrown into the pit and the pendulums, Edgar is striving to survive in this mysterious and hostile place that is full of traps, puzzles and enemies. Inspired by the works of Edgar Allan Poe, the story is told poetically and quotes from his most famous stories. You play through the levels aptly named by them and each level has it's own distinct theme.
Aside from attacking the enemies using his Rapier, he can use his ghost shift ability. This will allow the player to come up with a strategy to solve some puzzles or scout the area ahead without coming to any harm and plan for the next jump.

I spent more time on this game than any sane person should. Listen, as a developer myself, I know that making games is hard. But you should at least remove most of the glitches and BASE THE GAME ON THE STORIES AND POEMS! Honestly though, I kind enjoyed it as a platformer. The phasing through-mechanic is a great idea! Can't progress after four minutes. You can see in the screenshots and trailer that it's a very basic, novice game. Very empty, having to jump blindly, unexplained controls (took a while to notice I can press controller joystick to get into ghost mode), floaty and glitchy character controls (bumpy ground, placed in a bad way that can make you unable to jump across gaps, so you have to take it slow).3 found this helpful
I don't normally do negative reviews, but this game frustrates me so much and for what!? The ending is a none-existence small "animation" of a rat, that's it. There's no end screen, no meaningful conclusion, and it's such a waste of a pretty nice pixel art environment/vibe.2 found this helpful
