About ELEX
Play as a customizable protagonist navigating a massive seamless open world where your choices determine whether emotion or cold logic will dominate humanity's future in a post-apocalyptic science fantasy setting. Explore every corner with a jetpack-enabled vertical traversal system, engage in tactical combat against mutated creatures, and influence a deeply interconnected world where NPCs and quests react authentically to your decisions.

In ELEX, you join the war over a powerful resource that gives people great magic-like powers, but turns them into indifferent cold creatures. You decide if emotions and humaneness or cold synthetic logic will rule the world of Magalan.

- Vertical Exploration: Use the jetpack to reach any place in the game world
- Simulated game world where everything reacts to the players actions and provides for an authentic atmosphere
- Highly interconnected quest system that support true player choices

ELEX is a game with an interesting idea. Mixing fantasy, science fiction, and classic RPG elements sounds great, and you can clearly see that Piranha Bytes wanted to create something different after Gothic and Risen. Sadly, the final result didn't fully work for me. The game definitely shows its age, especially when it comes to the graphics and some of the mechanics. My biggest problem was the beginning. It felt very slow, and I often found myself getting bored before the game finally became more interesting. The chapter structure also feels strange. The first chapter takes up most of the game, while the remaining chapters can be finished much faster. For me, this makes the overall pacing feel uneven. ELEX isn't a bad game, but I expected more. It has some good ideas, but none of them are strong enough to make the game stand out. In the end, it's just a solid average RPG that never became truly memorable for me.1 found this helpful
In general a nice try to get the Piranha Bytes formula into a new setting. A small world with different factions that tie together an open questline for you to choose who you want to support and join. Gameplay already felt a bit dated at release but the formula still worked. You will find both good and bad storytelling in this game but overall i think it still can be enjoyed for what it is.
This is an OLD SCHOOL RPG with the same mindset. Modern audience might have problems playing it. But to lovers out there, this is GOLDEN.
A game so nice I had to buy and play it twice. I am not good at writing reviews, plus there are plenty of other reviews and videos on youtube about this game, so go check those out. I am posting this simply to give it more of a Positive scoring and to show my support for this game.

Easily one of the greatest games I have ever played. It's like they took every single Heavy Metal Magazine and smashed them together. It's just one giant dumb power fantasy in a grim dark world that mish mashes every heavy metal genre together. It's great. It's just great. World design is beautiful and I just love getting lost in these worlds. I am playing this after Gothic 1 Remake and I can play these games forever they're so amazing. Looking forward to Elex 2 after this.
