What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players praise the game's unique premise of surviving a chaotic three-sun system with roguelike progression and compelling difficulty, but they're unanimous in criticizing the unpolished presentation with spelling errors, inconsistent tutorials, poor UI clarity, and vague building descriptions that make the game confusing to play. Several players report technical issues and note that the developer appears unresponsive to community feedback, raising concerns about whether the game feels finished or worth its price.
WOEFULLY unpolished, seemingly unfinished, with spelling errors and nonsensical text in tooltips all over. The UI is as trocious as it looks, and there doesn't seem to be a consistent tutorial in place to explain *anything* of what is happening at all. The game put me off so hard, after closing it, I had to *reinstall it* a 2nd time, just to get over the 5minute limit of playtime to leave this review, specifically to warn other potential buyers to avoid it. I'm not sure whethe this is some game jam thing or just a scam, but it's doesn't feel like something that should be paid for.1 found this helpful
Fun little game. If you're gonna pick it up be prepared to lose to the RNG goddess. The premise is as following your civ is on a planet in a tertiary star system, as one could expect this is a very chaotic starsystem as the planet and suns dances around your civ will be met will both extreme cold and heat moments(even a gravitational one if all the suns align). Your goal is to try and speed run to the high end of technology in order to have your civ survive the terror of the 3 suns. Of course early on you're very much at the mercy of these stars this means your civ will die out one way or another but somehow the species will survive and evolve every time you do allowing you to edge closer and closer to the next age. Once you hit the steam age and are able to dig down to the planet core things will start turning around as deep underground you're relatively speaking safe against the stars.1 found this helpful
wow, this is one of the most brutal game i've ever played. in my first playthrough, the temperature swing is very extreme. one moment it's 40c, the next moment it shot up to 200c. after that it's goes back down to 20c then it goes further down to -80c. right after that, a army showed up with more than double my army size. naturally i lose and they snatched any resources i have left. my first civilization came to an end just like that. second round, some beast cubs raided my farm so i captured them as food. next thing i know, the adult beasts attacked. naturally i won but right after that an army attacked and i lose. thinking i can still recover from that, the temperature shot up to 100c right as i placed the last farm down. with the farms destroyed, i don't have enough food to support the populations, thus the second civilization came to an end. third round is even more ridiculous. i setup everything and the temperature is 40c at cycle 1. cycle 2 goes down to -80c, cycle 3 goes back to 20c, cycle 4 80c, cycle 5 120c, cycle 6 180c and lastly, cycle 7 200c. it's a good thing i bought this game at a super big sale. otherwise i would definitely refund it.
Absolutely cannot recommend a game that doesnt even run.. People have asked for fixes, devs do not do fixes and doesnt respond to steam community. Shame on you.
Its a somewhat mindless clicking game. I liked it, you might not. That's okay. I got it because it looks sort of neat and it was cheap, nothing else. I don't know anything about "Remembrance of Earth's Past trilogy" as I've seen referenced in other reviews so take that as you will. Nothing is really explained or elaborated on anywhere I could find in-game, many buildings I placed down without any knowledge of what they would even do. Sometimes it would helpfully inform you that a building would output 200 materials or something like that, which was nice, sometimes it would tell you it would enable some policy choice which I never actually found a use for aside from needlessly slowing down research. Many times I found myself wondering "Is there any point to this building at all?" and then I would place it anyway in hopes the game would tell me what it was for or why I should care. Usually it never did, sometimes there was some funny story events related to these mystery buildings. I don't think I ever figured out the difference between an archive and a university other than the university was just better at outputting research points. Did it expand the capacity of something? Wh…
I'll start with the objective flaws: 1) The English translation is lacking proof-reading and grammar-checks. 2) The resource and building names are inconsistent. 3) The tutorials are pop-ups and inconsistent 4) The interface is really bad, not in style, but in the way it works. The building descriptions are close to non-existant, the building effects are written in such a way I consider understanding them a minor puzzle. The Good: 1) It is fun, really. It lacks some artistic elements, but it is fun. 2) Progression is something you can feel gameplay-wise. 3) The overall artstyle is great, there just needs to be some adjustments made, 4) While I'm no fan of the Three Body Problem, this is good. What objectively needs to be done: 1) Proof-reading of english and other (if present) texts. Check the grammar, get rid of inconsistensies. 2) Change the names of some technologies: There can be no Babbage Engines if there is no Charles Babbage in your world, and Trisolaris is clearly not Earth to be home to Charles Babbage. I recommend to change the names of technologies accordingly 3) It is not clear from the first glance what is displayed on the temperature display, add a "degrees" symbol …
