I recommend getting this game exclusively when it's on sale and only if you've already played all the other Etrian Odyssey games so as to not get a wrong impression of the series as a whole. This was one of the most obnoxious gaming experiences I've had in a while, and I'm frankly baffled by the fact that they even made another entry after whatever this was. I know the series gets much better after this, so I would say EO2HD is nothing more or less than a fascinating piece of gaming history that you should absolutely stay away from if you like dungeon crawlers. I have all achievements in this game because of a persistent hyperfixation, but trust me, I stopped liking this game well before I reached the postgame.5 found this helpful
EO I, II, and III are all cheaper (basically just over a dollar each) on key sites, btw. All thanks to Humble Bundle!!! [strike] Not a sponsored review [/strike]3 found this helpful
Probably my least fav of the trilogy but I still like it and am glad to finally finish it after so long. This game can be so bs sometimes but I can't help but still love it. I feel like it's one of the most perfect games in terms of exploring a dungeon as a party. ATLUUUSSS GIMME ETRIAN ODYSSEY TRILOGY 2!!1 found this helpful
This one game was the best experience for me replaying the origins collection on steam, very fun game with tbf barely any balance to it, you are an absolute demon from the get go and that give you a lot of freedom, grinding was also super easy for money and exp, as the others two games of the origin collection the game never truly get difficult it doesnt give tons of option but still a decent amounts of them that i had experienced prior to playing on steam and all of them felt good, in fact good enough to make it so from all the franchise EO2 (and EO2U but it's fairly different) has been my favorite since forever now. definitly a recommendation from me
Etrian odyssey 2 is a step in the right direction but it still has almost all of the worst problems with etrian odyssey 1. The classes are horribly balanced, a teambuilding guide is practically necessary for a first playthrough, and the postgame in this one is the worst in the series. I personally think the 3ds remake of this game has the worst postgame but I'm probably the only person who thinks such. Despite all that, I enjoyed the game and while it's a little harder to recommend this one due to it's flaws I like these games enough to do so. Hell, I'd write a positive review for untold if it was on steam and that game has serious issues.
This continues the same as first one. Nothing special but a good time still.
