Firefighting Realism & Mechanics Review So far in terms of realism, the game is in a much better place in comparison to The Squad. But it still lacks a lot. Some of which I don't know if they'll be able to fix or add because it's animation stuff. Victim Handling & Downed Firefighters Victim Dragging: We don't "fireman's carry" victims in the fire service. It's very rare for that to happen. We drag victims with a certain technique so that they stay low to the ground and get the best air possible. We don't raise them into a super heated atmosphere when they don't have an SCBA. Downed Firefighters & PASS Devices: When it comes to downed firefighters, it's the same thing. If a member calls mayday cause he's down, for one, we should actually have to package him and drag him back outside. Two, I hate the lack of pass devices in the game. If yourself or another member is downed, your pass should go off and start activating. Especially when multiplayer is a thing. Hose Operations & Hydrant Connections Pre-connected Hose Lines: Second, and this is a personal pet peeve of mine since The Squad. We shouldn't have to grab a nozzle and attach it to an attack line. This game is amazing, I Love the graphics, the designs of the vehicles / inside of the firehouse. I also love the Challenges I have to face. Like this game is Legitimately amazing I'd recommend checking it out its the best. 10/10 for me.
I wanted to have fun in this game, but its really not authentic. Its goofy and not realistic like I had hoped. Fire Dynamics and behavior are not accurate at all, building features and construction are not accurate, breaker boxes, gas lines...etc are in ridiculous places. AI is a mess, slow, not focused. They do not do their jobs well and there is too little of them. EVERY fire is a once or twice in a career call...and not the bread and butter operations that are really experienced. Maybe I am old..but been doing this job approaching 40 years, half that time in the biggest city in the US. This game is tough to play because its just not accurate. Cutting 20 holes on a roof, fog does more good then depth and penetration of a solid stream, rig placement is predetermined....Its a mess. Hey to the casual....its fun.
I waited a long time for a game sim like this, it's a good one but I also feel like there's more features missing (can't quite put a finger on what). I hope they continue developing this one.
