About Fishing Paradiso
Bad news: you’re dead. Good news: at least you made it into Heaven!
When you first awaken in the afterlife, you find yourself on a tiny deserted island in the middle of the ocean. No pearly gates, no choir of angels to greet you—just a couple of palm trees and an annoying little bird to keep you company. For a place called Heaven, it sure doesn’t feel much like paradise. There’s no shelter to protect you from the elements, nor even any food to eat. In fact, the only thing here at all seems to be an old fishing rod lying down by the shore. Looks like you’re gonna have to learn how to fish.
Thankfully, you won’t have to go it alone for long, as you’ll soon be given access to your very own boat, as well as a fancy little doodad called a “skyPhone.” With this, you can plan out fishing expeditions, upgrade your gear, and take on requests from the various denizens of the afterlife. By fulfilling their wishes, you’ll grow closer to each of these friendly souls, and eventually, gain access to new fishing spots and even more interesting types of fish, with each step bringing you closer to uncovering the mysteries surrounding the legendary God Fish...
Fishing Paradiso is a narrative-driven adventure game designed to be both therapeutic and engaging with its relaxing gameplay and RPG-style progression systems. The more you fish, the more the game opens up with new environments to explore, new story objectives, and new characters to meet and befriend. With over 100 different types of fish to catch, not to mention dozens of upgrades to unlock, furniture to collect, there’s never been a better time to set sail and see for yourself what surprises paradise has in store!

Fishing Paradiso is a low friction indie game that quietly stands out by putting its story ahead of its fishing mechanics. The fishing itself is intentionally simple: catch fish, upgrade your gear, unlock new locations, and complete quests. It's satisfying without being demanding, making it a great game to unwind with rather than one to master. Its biggest weakness is repetition. Fishing is incredibly simplistic, and the fishing loop can become grindy late in the game. The low input, and repetitive loop has caused me to doze off sometimes. Some dialogue feels awkward due to localization. Though I find many of the characters charming because of it. Pick this up during a sale. Great on the Steam Deck.5 found this helpful
My first game from Odencat, as fun as i remembered!! (this is my second time playing haha) It'd be so much better if you've played Bear's Restaurant though, each character's background story was told there. While this game can be played on its own, it's more like a continuation story from Bear's Restaurant ^^1 found this helpful

Jeez man, why'd a fishing game out of all things made me question my own existence.....
Played this game just over halfway through on my phone years ago. It's a very cute game with beautiful art/music and fun yet simple gameplay. Very cozy! I have been looking towards playing this game again once I got my PC. I recommend playing other games by this dev as well, specifically Bluebird of Happiness and Town of Tides. Not sure if they're on Steam but I know they're on mobile! Recommendation for dev: maybe have the load game button as the first menu option as opposed to new game? I feel like it's more natural that order :) I've almost pressed the wrong button a couple times lol
