Gloom and Doom

I could write too much about how amazing this game is, but I will leave you to discover it by yourself. If you like creepy Halloween, underground, weird humor with multiple references to old cool things, then buy the game. I guess if you like VNs you can buy the game too. Also buy at full price, not on sale, game is definitely worth every cent. Note to dev: If you read this, do the next part of this gem please, it is needed. I'm betting you can do a trilogy of this story or at the very least a second part, pretty please? :) (Also include the hidden scene, you know the one, it was promised, and I looked at the decrypted game files, there is no hidden scene :( ...)

There are different ways to talk about it, some with respect and dignity, some with humour and cynicism. Eitherway, there is always a risk factor associated with the subject matter. I argue there's no 'right' way to talk about it, but rather it is important who you are discussing it with and how it is mandated, especially in places with some lack of control, like social media, but that is a discussion for another time. Interesting story with great characters and a 90's-ish theme. Light-hearted even though it has themes of suicide. Generally very enjoyable. No action scenes wedged in. (which is good for most visual novels)

It has a very well realized 90s aesthetic with an art style, consisting of that super edgy 90s comic book art style with a bit of text adventure game sprinkled in here and there. The subversive take on Christian Mythology such as fratboy Michael and punk girl Lucifer also fit in with the aesthetic. It even extends to the dialogue and humor which has that trying too hard feel though in a tongue in cheek sort of way. The basic plot here is a grumpy old man and the depressed but kind teen team up to achieve something and end up helping each other heal and discover themselves in the process. Grumpy and old here meaning a millennia old wraith who’s been exiled from heaven the last 400 years, depressed meaning ‘attempted suicide multiple times’ and achieve something meaning ‘killing her for good to stop the apocalypse.’ but that’s just window dressing. Generally I’d say there were 3 parts to the VN; Scenes which were the protagonists discussing their circumstances and struggles, such their suicidal ideation and efforts to be a good person, with another in a philosophical yet somber and down to earth sort of way, which managed to be pretty effective and touching. This game is so good and more people should know about it! I laughed out loud, I cried, I learned many 80s movie trivia facts.
