It is a really fun game with good turn-based tactical combat. I mostly enjoy the narrative though, and some twists and turns that I did not expect. The ability to adjust the challenge to what you'd like is also appreciated. Some mechanics are not well explained, but the curious can google those.3 found this helpful
Overall, a really enjoyable turn-based shooter. The story was good. However, the RNG of shooting can be a source of frustration. Sometimes the save system was annoying. It automatically saves when you start a new mission and after you choose a load out. You don't find out your objectives until after you start so if your load out is terrible, you need to reload an old save.
Solid tactics game set in a supernatural-infused wild west. It's relatively light on the RPG elements, since you don't really get to do much exploring, there's no character creation, and you don't level up based on XP or anything like that. There is a story that advances as you win battles but it's tied to little vignettes that unfold as you visit locations, but those locations aren't open for exploration and you just get a text box with some dialogue options when appropriate. In that sense, it reminded me of Expeditions: Conquistador. The actual combat is pretty much what you'd expect from a tactics game set in the Old West with some supernatural stuff thrown in. Cover, stealth, some special moves that are based on gunslinging skills and/or supernatural elements instead of psionics or superpowers like in most similar games, and so on. Combat scenarios are sometimes built a bit like a puzzle because even in Story Mode you can easily fail by getting killed if you rush into battle with no regard for safety, since often the victory conditions involve some or all of your companions not dying, and sometimes you have companions that are kind of weak and can't take more than a couple …
The second game is MUCH better and a whole lot more refined.
This is a good game other than a very frequent game breaking bug that constantly makes you reset every combat encounter. Edit: There are multiple different game-breaking glitches.
A bit janky, but good.
