While game offers interesting story premise, good VO and nice visuals, it offeres very shallow combat system which is boring as hell. Each (of 6 total) chars offers only 1 signature ability and you'll unlock 2-3 upgrades to it via poker hands. That's it. So every single combat is the same, and some encounters are loooong. It's a shame, since 1st game offered far more tactical options.

Really good RPG feeling and setting!

This game is as far a step back from the previous title as you can make. All the love is gone. Combat is tedious. Characters are all the same. It's like you took Hard West and dropped it in a bucket of Beige. Even the overworld map losses it's appeal. With a whited map under the pretense of snow. Weapon specialization is basically gone and replaced with which guy do you want to have the weaker version of generic "pistol". Even the ricochet is now mandatory and took away from the specialness in getting trick shots from the previous game. Literally you wont ever or will avoid as much as possible not bouncing your single shot. Melee is also boring now. Even chaining huge kill streaks feels bleh. Doing quests to get unique melee weapons only to find the only "unique" aspect is the picture. same dmg, same debuff, nothing else. The poker hand is not tied directly to your characters unique skills. I.E. don't have a pair? Then you don't get the characters special move. Straight up. It's locked behind having the right hand. Game is such a slog, you'll find you never keep it at normal speed, opting for 4x and just accepting choppy movements.

Pretty fun game as a fan of the genre. The Bravado system makes you feel powerful while also making you think of how to extend your turn for as long as possible. The story isn't anything to write home about, though it was still enjoyable. Some abilities are vastly better than others, however none are outright bad so the missions where you're forced to use them aren't a slog. I recommend going for all the "complete in X rounds" achievements to make the game a little more interesting.

Just finished it. It's a great game overall. Story is good, as well as musics and gameplay. The graphics are also good but movement can be rigid at times. While the game feels fresh at first like every new game you might start to play. It becomes repetitive from the 2/3 of the games since you should have unlocked a sufficient amount of spell and mechanics to know what everyone can do and have some sort of go by team. The cards and trinkets feels nice but also cagind in a way since unlocking passives and actives come sfrom them so you might be torn between raw stats and unlocking a passive. When it comes to difficulty, you can somehow save scum so try things if you have times to do so and play at hard or easy, normal doesn't really feels like the difficulty changed. If you go for harder, well, great you're welcome to the glutton for pusnishment gang. Overall great experience, I would recommend it.

While it's an improvement over the first HW, there's still a lot of wasted potential. Not a bad game overall tho.
