About Haustoria

The world has been cursed by an ancient, plant-based, cosmic being known as the Haustoria. Take control and repel the overwhelming entity!

Haustoria is a 2D puzzle-platformer featuring a unique "thumbtack" system where players pin and unpin game objects in the world. Set in an unforgiving, hand-drawn picture book style world, players will progress by solving puzzles using the magical thumbtack.

Make your way through a strange forest, explore a cursed house, crawl though dark caves and avoid dangerous traps in an old dungeon (and more!)

Upon starting a new game you’ll find yourself besides a stone wall, nearby are some colourful buildings and homes. Snowcapped mountains are in the distance, with a big bright sun shining down on all below. From here you will have some information about what keyboard keys will allow you to move, jump and interact with to help you on your way. The world has been cursed by an ancient plant-based cosmic being known as the Haustoria. Making your way across the screen, you come across your father, a wounded soldier who hands you the Magical Thumbtack. This magical thumbtack will allow you to pin and unpin certain objects you cross paths with on your journey. With the magical thumbtack you set off across the land, however the beautiful lands that you know will soon disappear. Instead you’ll find yourself in weird and twisted places, you need to find a way of lifting the curse and the removal of the Haustoria. As you make your way through Haustori…

Its ok. really liked the art style from the store page. i thought that maybe there would be some crazy dark meaning because of the creepy art style or telling maybe a dark story but it wasn't. once u kinda understand this "meaning" the game drags on forever. there are a couple of different types of puzzles that are kinda fun. not enough enough fun to justify the length. halfway through, i just started speed running it to get to the end faster. i feel this game could be cool maybe following a sad story through the eyes of a young child maybe? just a thought. but yeah overall kinda felt like a waste of time unless ur into mid puzzles that you control by locking objects to your character and running in different directions. maybe fun if you have time to kill. game Meh

Nice puzzles, great game! I like the artwork. Strange and creepy. If you liked Limbo, you’ll enjoy this.

Loved the artwork and music in the game. The puzzles were also really fun, and I enjoyed the thumbtack mechanic. Definitely recommended!

Nice puzzle platformer, reminiscent of Braid and Limbo, interesting and innovative thumbtack mechanic. Narratively and artstyle-wise it reminds me of Child of Light, with the rhymes and tale-like handdrawn style. Also Gris, from Nomada studio. For that price it was a welcome and enjoyable experience.
