Horizon Forbidden West™ Complete Edition

Played the 1st game, really invested with the world building, lore, character development and definitely fell in love with Thunderjaw. Unlike the 1st, the sequel is meh. Felt like angst teenage story. The DLC is where I drew my line where the woke agenda is implemented into the story. I don't see any significant effect that need to make Aloy gay. I respect her and her back story in the 1st game. But it totally flew out of window for the entirety of this game, the sequel. Not recommended.

I would pass on this game. Don’t get me wrong, the expansive open world and attention to detail are amazing, but there are just a few things that bothered me that caused me to not enjoy this game. The first downside for me was the story. It was hard to top the story of the first game in my opinion, but with this game it was easily a step down and hard to follow throughout. Additionally, I would argue the side content to main mission ratio was terrible. I speedran the main story on Ultra Hard mode and still got done in 5ish hours. There are double as many side quests and errands as the main story. Next is the character development, or lack thereof. The only meaningful development in the main characters story line is the she is a Lesbian. This came at the conclusion of the DLC and literally added zero benefit or reason to be put in there. Next is the weapons. I praised the first Horizon game for the vast amount of weapons you could choose from. This game gave added options and elemental states and I rarely used either. The items and elements in general were hard to grasp and made little sense to use in most contexts, and the elements were weak. I ended up only using a few of them bec…

Absolute Peak. I am like a (real) gaming enthusiast. I have played many games on the art side of the market, like single player games, story games, any that get awards. I have also played competitive games, so I am well rounded. When I say this game was peak, it is an understatement. Peak is an overused word that someone uses when they momentarily feel that they have witnessed peak media. This, however, is like when you know that Mount Everest is the tallest mountain in the world, and then find out that the mountain of Hawaii is taller. It is definitely worth mentioning that the people responsible for this game did very excellent with the ending credits - I have seen nothing like it in a video game. Money very well spent.
