About Isles of Etherion

Early Access Disclaimer: Isles of Etherion launched into Early Access in order to invite constructive feedback and suggestions from the community to help us polish and mature the game to its final state, which it is not in right now. If Isles of Etherion looks interesting to you, but you're used to playing games at their finished state, please consider adding it to your Wishlist. If you would like to contribute to the polishing/improvement of IoE and see your constructive feedback and brilliant ideas help make it into a game that we could all be proud of, please consider joining us in Early Access!

Isles of Etherion is a 3rd-person ARPG with physics-based magic and fast-paced combat against hordes of enemies, set in a large fantasy open world with 100% destructible floating islands that you're free to explore. Enjoy a tremendously vertical exploration thanks to rudimentary flight and gliding systems with which you will reach the most inaccessible places. Face all kinds of creatures and warriors using different types of weapons and spells that you will find throughout your adventure. Wield powerful magic and combine them in different ways to achieve a variety of effects. Dig tunnels to find hidden treasures, commandeer enemy airships to add to your own fleet. Prepare yourself to face the Elemental Bosses and Demigods. Choose from 7 different races -- Human, Elf, Dwarf, Gnome, Fairy, Angel, and Demon, each with its own advantages and disadvantages.

Natural disasters, such as Earthquakes, Meteors, Volcano eruptions, Tornadoes, occur randomly throughout the Isles.

Voxel Combat and Spell Weaving

Elementally Attuned Cause & Effect

Casting spells of a particular element will imbue the environment with that element, attracting monsters of the right elemental affinity. So your every action has the possibility of changing your subsequent gameplay experience!

No updates since April 2024. I has great open-world potential, but the lack of updates makes this a hollow possibility.

A game with the most positive negative reviews I've ever seen! I kickstarted with zero understanding of the process and scorned the dev hard when I first got my key to play. There was hordes of T-posing NPCs, many identical. I clipped through the floor...a lot and was bitter. I'm so glad that the dev is a level-headed, hard working kinda guy, that pointed out my misunderstanding and has continued to show a great ability to hear critiques and to adapt accordingly. I've passively been requesting Steam Deck support for a couple of years....and this review is just another reminder to the dev that I'm still waiting....patiently. 😉 (Apologies if I've missed this implementation already!) I look forward to seeing how this ends up, and I hope it gets the love it deserves...just for the dev's commitment alone. I've clicked "Yes" to recommending this, because I don't want people's first glance at the reviews to put them off digging a bit deeper. If you understand what you're getting into and that you can influence the trajectory of this game's destination, then take a look.

The spellcasting is really cool. I enjoyed setting the tornado on fire. However, the quest system doesn't seem to work. Flying is a mixed bag at best, and traversal is slow regardless. Enemies attack or don't and the way you can tell is that your health bar goes down. The world is big and bright and I really do like the verticality of it. The camera is a huge issue and glitches often when flying. Not sure if the destructible environments are worth the headache they are probably causing. This is an extremely ambitious game for a solo dev. I do wish them all the best and am genuinely very pleased to see that they are still working on it. Best advice is to polish the first 2 hours of gameplay to a mirror sheen, then expand from there. This is definitely not worth $24.79 NZD. https://youtu.be/VNVdyoyI4yA

Look, this game is great, its got a ton of cool ideas, but it doesn't seem to be in development anymore, maybe don't get it if you don't see an update, but if you do, I think give it a shot

I like the game that it become more stable previous version crashed alot. Could need fast inventory managment like sorting inventory fast. Also quick sell items at trader like only weapons and armor maybe an buyback for accidents. it's early acces yes and feels that way has potential needs to tweaked. Cheers to the dev the game is becoming more stable and fun. Edit:Game abandoned I guess my review was positive ,may change back if future allowes it,.
