No hay muchos juegos como "Let Me Play!", exceptuando los otros juegos del estudio Interactive Dreams. Pero incluso comparándolo con el resto de su catálogo, me parece un ejercicio interesante de meta-narrativa que en videojuegos hace falta explorar más. Si acaso, me gustaría que las oportunidades que tienes para escribir fueran un poco más relevantes para el curso de la historia. Esta misma mecánica de escritura es prácticamente imposible de llevar a cabo en el Steam Deck. Opté por escribir cualquier cosa con las letras que había disponibles en la configuración por default, para poder seguir con la historia. De cualquier forma, es muy recomendable para los que buscan juegos narrativos poco convencionales.

Video games have been breaking the fourth wall for quite a few years now, but this feels more like literary metafiction in a video game. Influenced, it seems, by the Second Part of Don Quixote, Borges and Samuel Beckett, the game is a lighthearted exploration of the relationship between plays and play, and between an actor playing a part in a play and a player playing as a character in a video game (or the game not allowing them too, as the case may be!) via it’s gradual gradation of fictional realities. It also playfully asks just how much interaction is required on the part of the player for a game to be a game(?). This is quite timely, considering the recent discourse around Mixtape. The art and the lovely little piano score are an excellent accompaniment to this fun little play experiment.

The art style is so charming. It's a great game concept and I had a lot of fun seeing the reactions of the characters! I had 2 endings, and I'm really looking forward to discover more!

A short, strange little game that was more interesting than I expected. It is about a play, a game, and who gets control of the story. Multiple endings, quick completion, and good pick for anyone who likes experimental indie games or short completionist runs.

A short, meta story about player authority and narrative limitations. In Interactive Dream's fashion, this game is a really interesting take on the death of the author, delving in its implications and constraints. If you enjoy literary criticism and/or meta-commentary, you'll enjoy this piece. The art style and writing are very enjoyable, and the varying paths make it replayable enough to justify a couple of hours of gameplay. Definitely worth it if only for the topics it explores.
