How is this game not well known? music and the artstyle is beautiful.... gameplay is snappy and satisfying..... clearing an area gives enough level of difficulty and less tedious than other metroidvania style games...... my only feedback would be the reskin for some of the mini bosses were a bit too much.... would love if you have a totally different designs for some of these mini bosses.... but other than that, tottaly loved the game.... a game that im sure i'll rerun with another build just because how well made everything is1 found this helpful
One of the worst maps you'll ever encounter in a metroidvania. You will be confused.1 found this helpful
This is a really solid 2d cross between a metroidvania and a soulslike. It's tragic that the team that made it went bankrupt almost immediately afterward. My real surprise was the level of polish on this game, for a small developer and a game that was kickstarted. -Graphics: Very good, for this level of title. The atmosphere is spooky, the designs are clean and clear, and there are touches, such as animations for the NPC faces during conversations, that I *really* didn't expect. -Sound: Solid all the way through. Music is good, sound effects are appropriate, and almost every NPC is, shockingly, fully-voiced. Some of the acting is a little hammy, but that 100% goes with the territory for a soulslike. -Game play / controls: Solid, if maybe a big unpolished in a few places. From other reviews, I see this area was a bit rough on 1.0 release, but it looks like the development team survived just long enough to release a few patches and really get this worked out. Now the only complaint I have is the pacing of new movement options is a bit strange (some of them come later than they logically should, like double jump and glide), while others are a bit under-utilized (like grapple…
Really solid game. Classes are really well defined and interesting. Game does fall off a bit towards the end, but was very much worth 20-30 bucks if you can grab it on sale.
Strong metroidvania, could definitely do with a bit better balancing and a general level of tuning/thought for some bosses. Overall pretty fun and well worth it.
Solid metroidvania, good graphics, good voice acting, replayability is good, (NG+) combat is reactive, lacks a little bit of variety in the weapon types, but plenty enough to keep you busy. I was worried at launch, it seems it was a bit wonky, but nothing like this anymore, game never crashed, isn't particularly heavy... good stuff
