✦ AI summary

Players appreciate the cute slice-of-life premise, appealing character art, and especially the male lead's voice acting, which many found charming. However, the game is criticized for being extremely short (under an hour for most players), having a thin, uneventful plot where little of substance happens, rough English translation that appears machine-generated with nonsensical dialogue, and minimal player agency with only one meaningful choice, making the full price feel unjustified for the limited content.

It's a neutral review. It was a pleasant enough read but there're still some serious issues preventing me from fully recommending it. Praises: +cute, enjoyable, slice-of-life otome <3 +the main reason why I still want to choose a thumb up for this story is a guy's awesome voice(。♥‿♥。) I was melting every time I heard it♡ +art is pretty, all the characters look appealing, the boy is especially gorgeous (^^)b +there's only one choice (2 endings) to make but I still appreciate that it's not a kinetic novel. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3480534484 Complaints: --very short. Not necessarily a drawback, it's nice to finish smth fast for a change:D But for a full price it may feel like not enough content. --the main reason why I pondered over choosing a thumb down after all is the quality of the English localization, sadly again T_T It's obviously just Google translated:( Not too bad actually, there was nothing I couldn't understand but it still felt weird. --it could be just a unique feature, special cultural thing but it was still annoying:( For example, that infuriating opinion that an idol (or any celebrity) can't have any personal l…

Melty Amethyst is a compact otome visual novel that thrives on subtle emotions and the comfort of everyday interactions. Developed by Miniature fleur and published by VNka, the game follows Hotaru Watarai, a young woman who leaves her hometown to pursue a new chapter of her life in Tokyo. Inspired by the success of her older sister in the modeling industry, Hotaru hopes that a change of scenery will help her discover what she truly wants. Instead, she finds herself caught in a quiet routine of part-time work and uncertainty, making her eventual encounter with a new coworker all the more meaningful. The narrative centers on Hotaru's relationship with Nao, a shy and somewhat distant employee who joins the convenience store where she works alongside her energetic friend Hana. Rather than pushing players through dramatic plot developments, Melty Amethyst takes its time establishing its cast and exploring the small moments that define human connection. Conversations during shifts, shared experiences after work, and the gradual peeling back of Nao's reserved personality create a story that feels intimate and sincere. The writing successfully captures the awkwardness and excitement that …

Neutral; but for a dollar and some change, this was acceptable. I was pleasantly surprised that it was voiced (not me not checking that at all, haha.) I was left wishing for more depth in the story, as it felt super shallow, and nothing substantial really happens. Some of the translations were silly and very likely machine translated. took maybe 45 minutes to complete, even with the bad ending.

The english is rough, and in some places the dialog doesn't make sense - I think all of it was just thrown into google translate. The controls are unlike most VNs I've played, and thus uncomfortable. There was only one choice (1 interact-able part of the game). When I saved, there were already other files, one of which was in a whole other language I neither speak nor read??
