one of the best NDs ever made imo!

My perspective on this game is probably more critical than other installments due to lack of nostalgia factor. This is one of the few games that I couldn't get though as a kid. Playing this today, I get why. The music and atmosphere is great as always. Introductions for some iconic franchise characters happen. But I have a huge bone to pick with navigation around the castle and the game structure. The last 30 minutes or so I spent going back and forth between my room to sleep and 1-2 other locations. All to move the game along. I understand that it's one of the first games in the series, and understandably, not as advanced. But it was still so frustrating to have figured it out as a player but having to go through 3 extra steps for the game to catch up. All in all it's a good mystery with some okay puzzles. If you never played it, still try it out. Just prepare some patience.

Nancy Drew: Treasure in the Royal Tower is a classic mystery adventure developed and published by HeR Interactive that successfully captures the excitement of solving a carefully crafted detective case. Set within the walls of a secluded castle during a fierce winter storm, the game blends historical intrigue with traditional point-and-click gameplay to create an engaging experience that rewards curiosity and careful observation. Rather than relying on action or spectacle, it focuses on unraveling secrets through exploration, conversation, and logical puzzle-solving, making it an excellent choice for players who enjoy thoughtful adventures. The story begins with Nancy Drew taking refuge in Wickford Castle after severe weather disrupts her vacation plans. What initially appears to be an unfortunate delay quickly transforms into a full-fledged investigation as strange incidents, missing valuables, and suspicious behavior emerge among the castle's occupants. One of the game's most distinctive narrative elements is its connection to Marie Antoinette, whose legendary royal tower has been reconstructed as part of the castle. This historical backdrop gives the mystery additional depth, w…

This is another fun entry in the Nancy Drew series. Puzzles weren't too hard although there were times I found myself a bit stuck on what to do. You do have a phone in game that you can use to call friends to ask for hints if you get stuck. Usually just going around and talking to everyone again was enough to get unstuck, and keep things moving along. This is a pretty short game that could be finished quickly. I took about five hours although it can be finished much quicker then that.

This is in my bottom 3 Nancy Drew games, and I have played almost all of them. I don't feel like there were many puzzles or things to interact with. Also, the mansion is quite large, so half the game is spent clicking around the place. I was looking forward to it being over with.
