Obsurity

"Obsurity" (I think the developer meant to call it Obscurity but didn't get the English right) is a bit of Russian shovelware, a GameMaker Studio top down slasher with a gimmick that you switch between two characters. The developer thought he could rip off Dark Souls despite not knowing how to do 3D graphics or use any engine more sophisticated than the GMS construction kit, as a result, we get garbage. But he did manage to pay for a couple of reviews that helped this along... review manipulation is a crime, unfortunately. This game has been translated from some other language into English... badly. If this was done through Google Translate, Google Translate should feel ashamed of itself. Regardless, the language in this game is broken and will put off a lot of gamers. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. This looks a lot like it was designed for consoles, but released on Steam instead by mistake. While this is on PC, it has all the hallmarks and deficiencies of a console game, from the clunkier than needed control scheme to the less than cutting edge graphics. very soso. Poor UI but nice art and sound. Wasn't a big fan of combat.

I've seen someone say that their gamepad wasn't working for this where as I'm having the opposite problem. There's no options to remap keys and mouse aim doesn't work. My gamepad works just fine, it's just too bad that it feels awful to play this with.

A shallow but fun action game where you control two characters. The first character does nothing until the last third of the game. The second does melee and later acquires a dash. The combat is somewhat mindless but fun. Early on I died a lot because the enemy movement patterns need to be memorized. Later on you get a projectile attack and can just dash past everything. There are several fun boss fights, but the final boss is a little too easy. There's no depth like leveling, perks, etc. and no reason to replay once you've beaten it, as all the achievements are just for finishing the game. If you decide to play on easy the game calls you a "little girl."

overall i'd say it's not a bad game but it lacks too much to be good the game deserves a praise for combat, it's small but there are many enemy types with diffrent attacks and projectiles you can deflect back at them, but there was no incentive to fight them - you could just skip everything and run through most of the levels which were very linear so no exploration either boss fights were fine tho with a feeling of bullet hell thrown in there were also some small puzzles and agility sections which were very cute but a big negative of this game is lack of controller support the game has no pause whatsover - you could either be in gameplay or in main manu, this was very annoying and kinda weird tbh there is also a huge problem with translation the futher you go the less sense all info seems to make additionally in some places no one checked the text boxes and the text just runs off screen and maybe it's bc of that but there wasn't much story in any of it, there was a lot info but still it didn't make much of a story of any kind
