If you are thinking about playing this game, stop reading and go in completely blind. The less you know, the better your experience will be. It’s only about 4 hours long. That said, this review will remain entirely spoiler-free. The first thing I want to say is that I absolutely love the main character, Niko. OneShot does an amazing job of making you care for them, much more so than a lot of other games do. The reason this works so well is because you and Niko are completely separate people. Instead of you acting as a silent protagonist in the game, you have your own distinct role in the story, and Niko actually has conversations directly with YOU. It's completely different compared to almost every other story game where the player is just represented through the main character. Also, people often compare OneShot to Undertale since both are short, quirky, top-down indie RPGs with great stories and fourth-wall breaks. While I personally still prefer Undertale (even though I love both games), I can completely understand why someone might favor OneShot over it (especially for its fourth-wall elements, which I'll get to later).
