About Post Apocalypse Microbe Lab

Leave the window somewhere on your desktop and watch as an android named Lyse continues with her research in a post-apocalyptic world. Her job is to collect microbe samples; your job is to lend a hand when you can. If you're looking for a simple game you can keep running on the corner of your screen which you can play with whenever you're free, this is the game for you.

What you can do:

・Click on microbes to help collect them※ Lending a hand will help increase research levels faster・Update laboratory facilities using coins・Salvage for junk by clicking on Lyse※ You can "fish" for just using a magnet・Look through your collection of microbes and junk in your Archive

Game details:

・Leave the game in a corner of your desktop and play whenever you like・Retro inspired pixel art and occasional chiptune music・The variety of microbes you can find will increase as research levels rise・Salvaged junk will be converted to coins automatically・Your facilities are simple; just a salvage magnet, Bait dispenser and a tank to collect microbes※ Your lab equipment can be automated from the beginning・Lyse may be hiding a secret……

You can change Lyse's appearance.

Once your research levels reach 10, you are able to unlock Skins.Change Lyse's appearance to your favorite Skin and continue with the research.

Lastly:

・This game doesn't have an objective・There are no fancy functions such as a ToDo list or a Pomodoro timer・There is no large-scale, dramatic storyline to follow・Lyse's diary entries will tell you a little more about the world she is in ・Once your archives are full, there will be a small ending・Enjoy the game at your leisure・Have fun in the post-apocalyptic world

Bonus:

・You might find easter eggs from other worlds created by Skipmore, such as “Kamiko” and “Transiruby.” ※This game is played using a mouse. It does not support controllers or Steam Deck. Thank you for your understanding.

Cleared all the achievements available on Steam in a little under 200 hours, which gets me just over level 100 in-game. If you're crazy, you can get this up to level 999 by putting it on a computer that isn't going to do anything but compute that for the next...however many months? Maybe years? As for why you'd do something like that, as many have already stated, it's a fun idler. A good portion of the draw is if you've played other franchises from Skipmore in the past but it's not a hard requirement. Just a few interesting references here and there and a small story to go along with it. Very little else keeping you aside from number go up and watching Lyse fish with her oversized magnet on occasion. For an idler, it does that job well. If nothing else, it qualifies as a desktop toy for the office, which I more or less used for myself, especially since I took the time to send bugfix data to the devs on a somewhat rocky start of the release, all of which has been cleared by now, so they get points for tackling that as fast and efficient as they did. That might have been part of the fun of all of this personally, for me, so I doubt this will apply to you playing that but I d…

This is an incremental game in the way that watching the clock while doing nothing at your day job is an incremental game. The sad part is that the art and story are well done meaning this is pure wasted potential. Sure there are upgrades. There is waiting for the ultimate result to come about. But the idea that this is an incremental game is a bad joke. This is a waiting game. This is watching a story play out in a long, boring, waste of time. From an incremental standpoint, the only option that makes sense for upgrades is focusing on your gold production as the other four upgrades do nothing to further your production. You have no input yourself to increase this production as your only interaction is endlessly collecting the same samples to increase your level which does nothing besides progress the story at a snails pace. The dev has a serious flaw in their understanding of what makes an incremental game rewarding. I do not have these games on in the background to let my computer take 100+ hours to see a cutesy story play out. I want to see big numbers get bigger. How did thee idea pass testing that the player has no input to the speed of gold production and is entirely at t…

nice, slow, peaceful. i'm not huge on this type of idler, but i'm enjoying my time with this one well enough. you get exactly what you see on the tin, just a straightforwards desktop toy with two main currency loops and six scaling upgrades. it won't really surprise you mechanically past a certain point, but the diaries take a while to get to, so you'll still be getting some new content periodically.

a fun little idle game, and it fits into the wider universe well. honestly i think this is somehow the most widely lore-heavy game yet.
