About Prophecy of Ashen

In the Kingdom of Rattalan, the Sacred Flame is the supreme law. The Hall of Sacred Adjudication maintains the order of the divine authority with an iron fist, while the Crimson Flame Brotherhood plots extreme vengeance from the shadows.
You serve the Hall of Sacred Adjudication as a courier who always delivers. A seemingly routine confidential delivery unexpectedly makes you the prey of the Crimson Flame Brotherhood. While evading pursuit and traversing war-torn lands, you will discover that the letter you carry is far heavier than life itself.
The line between good and evil has long been blurred in the ashes. You must assemble a crew, each with their own hidden agenda, and advance step by step in tactical turn-based combat. As a pivotal figure maneuvering among various factions, your choices will shape the course of history:
Will you remain loyal to the corrupt yet stable Church, upholding this teetering order? Or will you stand with the maddening Ashborne, challenging it all with destruction?

Prophecy of Ashen, developed and published by hhyuGame, is a dark fantasy tactical RPG that leans heavily into choice-driven storytelling and deliberate, turn-based combat. It presents itself as a morally complex journey through a crumbling kingdom rather than a power fantasy, and that restraint defines much of its appeal. From the opening moments, the game signals that survival, belief, and consequence will matter just as much as raw strength or mechanical mastery. The story unfolds in the fractured realm of Rattalan, a land scarred by religious absolutism, political oppression, and open rebellion. You begin not as a legendary hero but as a lowly courier tasked with a routine delivery that quickly spirals into a fight for survival. This grounded starting point gives the narrative a strong sense of escalation, as the player is gradually drawn into conflicts between the authoritarian Hall of Sacred Adjudication and the radical Ashborne movement. Neither side is portrayed as purely righteous, and much of the narrative tension comes from navigating competing truths rather than choosing an obvious “good” path. Themes of faith, corruption, and desperation are woven naturally into quest…

Says it has full controller support, but it doesn't. Unplayable with my xbox One controller. Don't lie to customers.
Juggling the affections of a necromancer, a holy acolyte, and a cute merchant while keeping the first two from ripping each others throats out and letting the third underpay you for dangerous tasks.
Surprisingly well put together for a solo dev, considering the size/scope of dnd like games. As someone also looking into/studying game development it is also very inspiring. Some of the menus feel a bit finicky but my biggest complaint is the small amount of portrait pictures, so I have to go through the game with a mismatching portrait/avatar, which throws me off a bit.

It's so rare to find a game that has everything. Unappealing visuals? Prophecy of Ashen has it! Poor translations? Look no further! Repetitive enemy encounters? Trash loot? Glitches? Janky controls? Boring characters? Completely pointless story? Confused moralizing? Derivative and boring character building? Prophecy of Ashen has you covered for all of that and more! Give this one a pass.
