About Rainbow Sea

Rainbow Sea is a multi-ending pixel-art visual novel based on the Japanese myth of the Seven Lucky Gods. It depicts a year in the life of a Human who was chosen as a candidate to become a god, living among the Seven Lucky Gods, who do not seem to open up much to her. You—as the Human—can explore the treasure ship and make choices to change the storyline. All twenty-two endings are true endings, and only you, the player, will be able to find what the real story hidden behind all of them is.
 • Move around the treasure ship, setting off triggers by talking to the gods and examining objects on the ship.
 • Events are triggered when certain conditions are met, such as the level of affection from the gods, the weather, and the time of day. In the events, you can make choices to change the story.
 • Every real-life second counts as a minute in game, where you can be active from 6:00 AM to midnight. Note that if you are not eating or sleeping enough, you will fall asleep sooner than that.
 • After one year, on New Year's Day, you will reach an ending, chosen depending on the events you have seen and your choices.
 • It takes roughly two hours to complete a playthrough.
You wake up in an unfamiliar storeroom where you can hear nothing but the sound of waves. As you are trying to figure out why you are here, your reflection in a mirror speaks to you.The reflection tells you to lie, then disappears. When you leave the storeroom, you meet people who call themselves the Seven Lucky Gods.According to one of them, Daikoku, you are a Human who was chosen to become a god. Most of them do not seem to welcome your sudden arrival.Once the treasure ship returns to the human world in a year, will you become a god and join the others on the ship? Will you return to your original world as a human? Or will you...?Your bittersweet year with the Seven Lucky Gods begins. He is good at and likes cooking. He spends most of his time in the kitchen beside the cafeteria, where the other gods gather for meals. He plays a central role on the treasure ship due to his reputation as a trustworthy god.He cares about you and the other gods. He wants everyone to get along. On sunny days, he can be found fishing on the deck.He doesn't seem to want to interact with humans or other gods, and treats you with annoyance and coldness. She is a multi-talented goddess who loves all things aquatic, musical, and academic. She lives freely in the cockpit, without the interference of other gods.According to her, there's almost nothing she can't do, and she's particularly observant. The deity of war. He is usually quiet and calm, but when it comes to battle, he is by far the strongest out of all eight million gods.He is not good at lying or detecting lies, and doesn't understand why other people lie.He loves cats, but is troubled by how they tend to run away from him because of his large body and armor. He speaks a unique dialect. Thanks to his ability to predict the future, he has an enlightened view of things.Thinks ill of others similar to him, but is also uncomfortable with those he sees as pure.He is particular about tea and incense. He wears a fox mask, but he won't tell you why.He is cheerful and acts like a child, but like the other gods, he seems to be much older than you.He is in charge of writing down the lives and fates of humans. He is very interested in modern technology. He takes walks all over the treasure ship.He spends most of his time in the archives and knows almost all of the books there. His face looks young, but his behavior and language give him an air of maturity. He has a warm personality and is always ready to help anyone.

Rainbow Sea feels like an experiment in deconstructing something far larger until there's zero fat left. I enjoy and collect these sorts of heavily streamlined games, but if you're walking into this expecting a full-bodied creature in the form of a traditional VN or an RPGM point and click, you're going to be more than a little disappointed. This game has places to go (not with you, you're stuck on this ship) and people to see (unless it's raining.) Every day is a month and you only get twelve of them. Every real time second is a minute in-game and events will drain some arbitrary amount of time, as well as activities like cooking, fishing, and reading books. If you hate timers, this likely sounds stressful, but since all you've got to do is activate events, there's little worry about. The save slots are generous and include autosave. There's also a log, skip text, and a fast forward for time button, so even if you waste a day, it's no bother to go back and redo it. Writing-wise, this is a tame otome game. The protagonist is rational in her thoughts and (re)actions usually. She does brute force her way into quite a few hearts just by doing nothing or being too nice. Gods have low…

I love the game so far! Beautiful art, interesting characters, and fun mechanics! Edit: I think it fixed itself, thank you if you did fix it though!
Seven Lucky Gods and The Treasure Ship
This is a very interesting game based on the Japanese mythology the seven gods of fortune, its a nice modernized spin off of the gods themselves. What i did not like however that I was stuck in the treasure ship unable to go to land and the clock. It is half RPG, elements of farm and fishing, cooking and doing plenty of events. There are at least 3 endings for each god. Can be a little bit of a challenge if you are going for the achievements, there is no proper guide as of yet, i managed to get all all of them so it's not impossible. Story: Daily life of gods of fortune You are a human and you can be a god if you prove yourself and become stronger within the year of staying on this ship. You can go on the route of each god, increase favor points and unlock story events, some events need you to do have favor with other gods too. Story is fantastical, mythological and some endings leave a bitter sweet taste on your mouth. What I like are the routes of Daikoku and Jurojin. This is a modernized version of the gods, each have their quirks and personality. Getting all their events unlocked was super fun and interesting. …
