The game seems nicely designed and is something i could get into. The retro aesthetic is good and music is decent. I have unfortunately had to refund the game as the player ship only moves up/down/left/right with no diagonals. I tried remapping the controls through steam but it didn't work. The current control movement means this game is unplayable for me. Hopefully its a bug which can be ironed out as the game is nicely made and at an attractive price point.

[b] Review After 100% Achievements [/b] Came across RedRaptor while browsing through arcade style games on Steam, I couldn’t pass it up without giving it a try! Inspired by the classic ‘90s top-down shooters, this game delivers an awesome nostalgia experience with some cool features to help players who are new to the genre. Five stages in total, unique bosses and enemies with various attacks. Earn points after each run to invest into upgrades at the main menu to help with subsequent runs. You take the role of an ace pilot on a mission to help intercept an unknown threat that has already taken out allied forces. The different stages were awesome, I just wish I had more! After you invest in your stats, the game becomes pretty easy to complete, but it does make for an enjoyable experience. An online leaderboard is a nice feature to have as well. If you’re wanting to play a retro style arcade shooter, this is a great option that puts your skills to the test while also giving you a feeling of progression after each run. This is just pathetic. Well, I should have expected it when I saw proud "added diagonal movement" in update history. Seriously, for more than 40 years almost every shoot'em up (unless it is a fixed shooter) has diagonal movement and initial release of this game was without it? No comments. The game has 5 stages with static enemy layout and attack patterns (most of which are braindead simple anyway). You will get hit during first few playthrough because of some unexpected attacks coming out of nowhere (like lasers on stage 3) but once you memorize everything the game won't be a problem should you actually want to complete it or play any longer for some reason. Oh, yes. There is arcade mode which is a li-i-i-i-ittle more difficult, does not have nonsense story dialogue and seems to loop infinitely. And there are upgrades that you can buy in main menu. I completed the game without ever buying them but looking at the selection they are supposed to make an easy game even easier.

Game only has 6 stages? Way too short. Wish forbmore content and stages.

Beginner friendly shmup with decent mechanics. Quite short.
