About Resident Fear 3 : Ascension

Resident Fear 3: Ascension is a cinematic, single-player survival horror game and the next major installment in the Resident Fear series. Set three days after the Racooga City outbreak, this emotionally intense chapter follows Nathan — the sole playable character — as he navigates a terrifying journey filled with infected hordes, dark secrets, and desperate survivors.

🎮 Gameplay Overview:

  • Third-Person Survival Horror
Experience the story from a third-person perspective with carefully choreographed camera angles, cinematic cutscenes, and immersive storytelling.
  • Linear Story-Driven Experience
This is a tightly paced narrative adventure core gameplay. While the path is linear, the emotional stakes and intense pacing keep players fully immersed.
  • Combat & Survival
Fight against the undead with limited ammo and weapon options. Face intense zombie encounters and massive mutated boss creatures where every bullet and every step matters.
  • Environmental Exploration
Travel through atmospheric, hand-crafted locations — including narrow city alleys, a crumbling bank, eerie underground tunnels, a dark sewer system, and a mysterious desert research facility.
  • Puzzle Solving
Scattered throughout the story are light environmental puzzles, such as powering generators, finding access keys, or navigating blocked paths, adding variety between action sequences.
  • Emotional Cinematic Storytelling
Interact with key side characters like Ellie, Mark, and Evan through fully voiced cutscenes. These relationships and events build toward a powerful and emotional finale.
  • Final Showdown
The game culminates in a climactic confrontation at the Phantom Research Facility, where you uncover the truth behind the outbreak and fight to save what’s left of humanity.

👤 Playable Character:

  • Nathan is the only playable character. All other characters (Ellie, Mark, Evan, and Dr. Grey) are part of the story and appear in cutscenes or support roles.

🧩 Game Features:

  • Intense survival-based combat with limited resources
  • Cinematic storytelling and emotional arcs
  • Atmospheric level design inspired by classic horror games
  • Varied environments including urban ruins, sewers, desert outposts, and labs
  • Single-playthrough structure ideal for short, impactful gameplay sessions

✦ AI summary

Players report that this game is severely broken and poorly optimized, with technical issues including complete PC crashes and numerous design flaws like unresponsive stamina mechanics and poorly spaced objectives. While some find entertainment value in how badly the game is made—particularly the comical zombie animations—the overall consensus is that it serves as a cautionary example of incompetent game development rather than an enjoyable experience.

This game is so comically broken. I knew this game would be bad but I was so curious just how bad it was. But I got to admit the best part of the game was in the intro when you see thousands of zombies doing the same pose in a distance all jiggling towards the camera at once. I was laughing so hard and how bad it was. If anything this game should only be purchased on how not to make a video game. You could learn a lot from how not to make a game from this "franchise" A franchise of failure. I think it's hilarious in the previous game it was so broken there's no stamina bar and you can infinitely run and in this game there's a stamina bar and your objectives are so far apart you're out of breath constantly. I almost gave up super early on cuz there's a part with a safe and the instructions are so poorly written that you just have to tap A and D a bunch to open it up. I got pretty far in the first game second game I just gave up immediately because it was just go around this big map and collect parts for an hour. And this one I didn't get very far either due to the fact I had absolutely no clue where to go! Seriously I ran around for a while just looking for what I was supposed to do…
