It has added video game mechanics, such as relics, upgrades, combos and enhanced monsters and all of those do make the game better. If you're not familiar with the original game, it's played with a standard set of cards, where suits represent monsters, equipment and health potions, with the goal of getting to the end of the dungeon alive. The trick is to use the cards in optimal order, for example, saving better weapons to fight tougher monsters so that you lose less health. There is more to the game than meets the eye - despite its simplicity, it's still strategic and every decision matters. That said, there is plenty of luck involved. You can get a strong weapon in a room with weak monsters, essentially wasting it due to how durability works. You can skip the room but that might lead you to a room with no weapons and all high tier monsters. I've died countless of times and mostly it felt like it was due to bad luck. Tried this game as one of my first gameplay streams. Picked it because it just release and had no reviews. Let me say, white it is not perfect, it certainly hits that rogue-like deck-builder spot! If you like games like Balatro, give it a shot.1 found this helpful
