About Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer

✦ AI summary

You're an elite Hackblood-powered operative called an X Slayer, hunting down the evil Psyko Syndicate across wild locations from sewers to pizza joints with an arsenal of ridiculous weapons and original punk rock soundtrack. This is a passion project resurrected from a 1998 CD-ROM that's finally getting finished and released online after 25 years.

.. welcome to.... THE STEEL SEWER. The biggest motherflippin secret base in the galaxy.

Why? Because the Psyko Sindikate are freakin sick evil turds and are using the Hackblood (yes... they are stealing our powers... idiots) to bring evil enemies to life & take over the world and enslaven humanity.

WE. ARE. X SLAYERS.
We study the secrets of the Hackblood and it pulses through our veins.
We lie in wait, biting our time for the right moment to strike the Psykos.... while blasting original music by Seepage & Psyko Syndicate

Weather by
  • S-Blade,
  • Double Pistols,
  • Glass Blaster,
  • Explosive Sludge Launcher,
  • X100 Rapid Mutilator,
  • Triple Helix Missile Launcher,
  • or Hackblood Power
, we will hunt them down and get them wherever they hide.... they can hide anywhere like...
  • my room
  • the sewer
  • the playground
  • the dollar$haver store
  • the laundrymat
  • professor pizza

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

back in 1998 me and my friend Chase were making this game... and guess what... Chase found it again. he burnt it onto a CD-ROM and now we're going to finish it and put it on-line. i got out of computers in the mean time because I had to get a real job at a Dollar$aver (I even have a kid... how did htat happen BWL!!!?) so i forgot how to program but Chase is going to do it, he went to college for it. i still have my notebook with all of the designs and guess what.... its still flipping incredable. get ready for the greatest game in the world......

I gotta be honest, the whole gimmick kind of overstays its welcome. Though it does hit different from others "hey guys remember the late 90s remember the early 2000s" saturated market. Inherently this is supposed to be a "jankie" game, it's obviously on the course of being crappy and goofy, clearly not taking itself serious through the whole thing, in which i wish that approach was dealt with more care when it comes to the level design. There's a lot of passion and love put into the visuals, presentation, etc, sadly the same can't be said with actually playing it than looking at it. I sincerely felt nothing while busting down chunks of enemies, not even when the later levels started to become a bit challenging. I still haven't checked out the hardest difficulty so maybe i'll change my mind about it, maybe, but yeah, before buying this make sure to let yourself know that it's not going to be super engaging or bring anything new to the table, just relax and enjoy what it has best to offer. It's like equivalent to watching a really bad adult swim cartoon.

My 10 year old son who loves boomer shooters says this game looks terrible and that Zane seems like a weird guy. 10/10

A smooth boomer shooter that doesn't give me motion sickness. It truly encapsulates being 16 in 1999.

Good Doom-like with tongue in cheek humor. VERY 90's. There are a couple platforming sections that are abysmal, but otherwise pretty good.
