A game that ALMOST offers an experience reminiscient of the beloved Mario Golf. BUT it's completely stained by there being no way at all to edit the additional CPU players added to bring the total number up to around 8 I think. It's terrible watching a CPU play when we just want to play a group of 4 of us players. It's even worse when you want a single-player game and have to patiently wait for 7 CPUs to take their turn. IF this had controls for number of CPU and a way to turn them off, it would be a solid 8/10 for me. It would be an experience that closely mirrors the fun we have with Mario Golf on Switch (and back throughout consoles). BUT as it is now, with no ability to remove CPUs, we can't stand it. Uninstalled, 4/10 due to wasting player time and patience.14 found this helpful
The game crashes on nearly every course. When it doesn't glitch out it freezes. Forums show multiple people with the same issue with no resolution.3 found this helpful
After giving Smoots Golf a spin on stream, here's what I think. It's not a bad game. Very reminiscent of Mario Golf and similar titles in the older console days. The game is originally a console game, so on PC is is better played on controller (mouse & keyboard feels weird). Sounds and graphics are simple but get the job done. The game suffers a limited amount of clubs: a driver, a single mid-range club and a putter. But the way it plays you don't lose too much not having a wider selection. The game is short as well: you play only a few holes at a time from an entire course in Tournament & Mini Golf mods. Exhibition lets you keep playing a single hole over and over again to master it. The game really isn't mean for solo play though, it falls lackluster. This is definitely meant to be a "party game" of 2-4 people playing together. The AI opponents in Tournament seem appropriate. Overall, I do recommend it but only if you have friends to play with. Solo players might become bored with it fairly quick. The relatively short sessions might help with that though. The pricetag is inline with what I'd expect this type of game to be so that is acceptable. I played out the mods and mad…3 found this helpful

awesome, calming
Smoots Golf, developed by Kaneda Games and published by JanduSoft, is a lighthearted arcade-style golf game that blends accessible mechanics with a colorful, cartoon-inspired presentation. Rather than aiming for hyper-realistic simulation, the game positions itself as an approachable and social sports experience, designed to be enjoyed both solo and with friends. With a mixture of traditional golf holes and dedicated mini-golf courses, it attempts to capture the charm of classic console golf titles while keeping the gameplay simple and easy to grasp. At its foundation, Smoots Golf revolves around straightforward swing mechanics and intuitive controls. The core system uses a timing-based swing approach, where power and accuracy depend on well-timed inputs rather than complex button combinations or advanced shot modifiers. This makes it accessible to newcomers and casual players, allowing them to jump into a match without needing to study detailed mechanics. At the same time, mastering shot power and directional precision requires practice, especially on more challenging courses with uneven terrain, sand traps, water hazards, and elevated greens. The game offers a respectable selec…
