Song of Twilight

Song of Twilight is a pretty strange horror adventure, but I think that works in its favour. I am playing as two sisters who get dragged into a twisted otherworld ruled by someone known as Father. He wants to become a god by sacrificing one of the sisters, so the main goal is simply trying to escape this place before things get even worse. I like the basic setup because it gives the game a clear sense of danger without needing a massive amount of explanation at the start. Most of the game is about exploring the strange world and trying to figure out what is going on. I can search the different areas for clues, talk to characters and work out where I need to go next. The world has a cute pixel art style on the surface, but there is a much darker side underneath it. I liked that contrast because some of the characters and environments look almost harmless at first, only for the game to remind me that I am still stuck in a very dangerous place. The chase sections are where the horror becomes more direct. There are strange creatures called Fu and Eien that can attack me, so I cannot always take my time exploring.
