Gameplay: 8/10 Story: 8/10 Graphics: 9/10 Performance: 8/10 Overall: 8/10 Unlike the previous title, Star Wars X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter, which felt more like a multiplayer experience with a singleplayer tacked on. Star Wars X-Wing Alliance feels like the point where the series finally comes together. Right away, the graphical jump is obvious, this is a huge step up from the earlier games. Ships are more detailed, textures are softer, environments feel more alive, and the scale of everything is just bigger. Capital ships actually feel massive now, and battles have a sense of presence that the older titles couldn’t quite pull off with the limited hardware of the time. The greater roster of flyable craft is also a big win. You’ve got your standard Rebel and Imperial fighters, but the game really shines with the inclusion of smuggler and pirate ships like the R-41 Starchaser and Firespray patrol ship (i.e. Boba Fett's ship). On top of that, you can pilot light freighters like the YT-1300 (Han Solo's ship) and YT-2000, which adds a completely different feel to certain missions and helps sell that “living in the Star Wars universe” vibe. STAR WARS: X-Wing Alliance is often considered the ultimate evolution of the classic X-Wing space simulator series, combining cinematic storytelling, deep tactical combat, and large-scale space warfare into one of the most immersive Star Wars games ever created. Unlike earlier entries that focused primarily on military campaigns and anonymous pilots, X-Wing Alliance introduces a much more personal narrative centered around the Azzameen family, traders and smugglers whose lives gradually become entangled in the growing conflict between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire. This stronger emotional focus gives the game a more memorable identity while still preserving the strategic space combat that made the series legendary among PC gamers. The story follows Ace Azzameen, a young pilot working alongside his family in a dangerous galaxy increasingly dominated by Imperial control and political instability. It is fun star wars space game. tells a good story

I had this game way back in high school and I've played it a ton over the years. It is hands down the best Star Wars flight simulator with a great storyline. The graphics were amazing for when it came out, and I cannot recommend this game enough. One of my favorite aspects of it is the skirmish creator function that's built in, where you can fly whatever you want against whatever you want, allowing you to practice without having to play the same missions over and over again.

It has the best story setup of all SW space sims.

The upgraded version seems very unstable but it is still a really fun game. Probably the best simulator ever created for Star Wars.
