When it comes to Ninja Turtles and video games, most people don't think of turn-based strategy. They think of fast-paced action beat-em-ups of varying flavors, so playing a game outside the genres that TMNT is most comfortable with has been an interesting and unique experience, and one I've been enjoying a lot thus far. I'm not the best at describing the strengths and flaws of gameplay, although I admit it took me a good minute to figure out how the turtles's default move sets all worked. Once I did though, the pace and enjoyment of the game immediately shot up and I was having a blast getting through the levels. Words cannot describe the dopamine rush I get anytime I'm successfully able to beat multiple enemies in a single turn and the accompanying sound effect also makes it incredibly satisfying. Seeing them occasionally fall victim to stage hazards also gets a good, much-needed laugh out of me, especially the car deaths and falling junk in the street levels. Beyond the gameplay, the art and story are an interesting contrast to each other. The art style, graphics, and aesthetics are a clear homage to the 1987 cartoon, albeit with modern technology involved such as drones, and t…

Relatively short, relatively simple. Fun time. Solid story in theme with the show/comics. I reccomend it if you take it for what it is, just don't expect Xcom level complexity, difficulty, or length.

This is a rare Turn-Based Strategy that feels like a very fast-paced action game. It's an amazing feat, I love this game so much! I wish I could pay a bit more to get more of the story. Because it's Strange Scaffold Quality Story (which is amazing and never too much). Each Turtle plays like a different game and they've packed even more abilities to change the game once more. That's right, son, YOU GET BUILDS! It's MORE GAME PER GAME THAN PREVIOUSLY BELIEVED POSSIBLE. I admire the game design and craftsmanship here. And as a fellow game designer, after playing this, I went: THEY CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS! as I do with Strange Scaffold games every time.

I've been playing through a lot of Strange Scaffold's games that I've missed and this one was an odd entry; seemingly unlike any of their other games. However, once you're deep in the game, their fingerprints are all over the project. This is a simple but engaging tactics game that embodies the Ninja Turtles both in storytelling and mechanically with how the heroes fight their way to saving the day. Plus, the game doesn't overstay its welcome and perfectly suited my needs right now for a game that I could squeeze into small moments.
