A competent horror experience with puzzles that are engaging without being overly difficult. The story is intriguing, though there isn’t a lot to analyze, so it’s best experienced blind. The game touches on serious themes and provides a warning beforehand in case it’s not something you want to expose yourself to. This time a school one. There's a few weak mini-puzzles and things, but at the end of the day this is just another bunch of Unity assets on a Unity first person horror game template. Does this add anything new to the body of over 120,000 games on Steam? Nope. THANATOS is partially or completely made up of stock assets, "borrowed" from asset stores and free asset websites. Little, if anything in this game is the creation of the "developer". While there's no up front price for this asset flip, the other problem with asset flips is that when developers aren't capable of doing their job and creating high quality assets, it's also true they can't do any of the rest of the job of a game developer either. Buggy. Couldn't get past the torn paper arrangement as the game refused to recognise I had done it correctly.
It's a decent horror game with interesting puzzles but get rid of the random jump scares on screen for the next game.
Couldn't advance after completing the first puzzle.
I enjoyed this game. Good story, decent puzzles, it's nice when the puzzles aren't impossible. Definitely worth a play.
