The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR

60 bucks for a game that does not have working controllers by default is a f*cking scam. Everything has to modded for the game in order to be good, first then can you fully enjoy it. Shame on you Bethesda! I want to give it a thumbs up, but the developers ignorance and greed stops me from doing it. All hail the modders who made this game actually playable, you make the world a better place!

I’ve been a fan of The Elder Scrolls since seeing Oblivion footage back in 2005 and getting hooked on how the series worked. When Skyrim came out, I was on it immediately, and I’ve collected most of the TES series since. ESO is great, but not always the best when you want to roleplay. But the real focus here is Skyrim VR. It absolutely feels like VR was just tacked on, and it desperately needs some major TLC — but it’s not all bad. With the right mods, this game sings. My biggest gripe is that Bugthesda basically abandoned this version. Skyrim VR should have gotten its own Anniversary treatment, taking the best VR mods and making them official. If they actually upgraded and fixed everything, this game would be incredible. Honestly, hand this thing over to Flat2VR and let them work their magic. There’s so much potential here. I’m all for modding, but on Linux it’s not always easy to get everything working the way it should, so I mostly play vanilla VR. Even then, I still jump into it from time to time because it’s Skyrim — and Skyrim in VR, even in its rough state, is still something special. Come on, Bethesda. would not reccomend for first playthough of the game you basically need mods to even play this, so thats a big drawback. It does add an extra dimension to the gameplay though so if you have already done playthroughs on other stuff, then i would reccomend it if you are looking to play modded skyrim after playing on a console, this version runs on an older version of Skyrim: Special Edition, so a lot of the mods are outdated/wont work and then you will have to do workarounds that will take a lot of fiddling and not much playin i think i spent a lot more time just looking at the scenery in awe than i did with the regular game, combat feels a lot more intense too overall would rate this: Skyrim/10

Like my review for Fallout 4 VR, I believe Skyrim VR is a pretty bad port for VR—but at least they actually bothered to give you hands in this one! With Skyrim VR, it's more about it being the groundwork for some of the most immersive experiences you could ever have in VR. With the right modlist, you can completely transform Skyrim VR into hands-down THE BEST way to experience Skyrim. The price tag is outrageous and it often goes on sale, so if you are thinking of buying, just wait until one happens.

i have yet to find another game i can be a necromancer even in vr with a couple mods its beutiful

this game is so much fun, Skyrim is already fun on it's own but entering the world of Skyrim in VR is evven more fun (and very humorous too, depending on how you fight with your weapons) although it can get a little frustrating if you try to talk to NPC's with a weapon drawn by mistake and you accidentally attack them and now you're stuck fighting an NPC that you never meant to attack in the first place, still a fun game, especially to enter the world of Skyrim in VR but some functions don't seem to operate as user friendly as I would like them to, but still good enough to be enjoyable
