As someone that loves Game Dev Tycoon and was looking for something similar to play but for movies, this game really fulfilled that itch. Gameplay is really addictive, and it's fun getting to unlock and experiment with different features and combinations. Cross analysing trends for genres/themes and carefully planning your release window provide an additional layer of strategy that I really enjoyed when producing the films I wanted to make, especially with the way I like to play where I try to recreate/reimagine existing songs, games, etc. as films. Deciding whether a film was going to be made for the masses or for the artistic integrity/critical reception (or both) via the commercial and critical reception of the talent you hire was also a feature I really enjoyed when making my movies. It's just a shame that further development of the game seems to have been abandoned, cos it becomes clear the more you play that it's unfinished and that the devs intended for there to be more features and fine-tuning (as another reviewer pointed out, the competitive analysis trait, which is "in development" in-game, is basically useless). It's a decent game, but Hollywood Animal is much deeper. Within 6 hours I've already achieved half the goals and it could've been more if I would've tried. After 3 or so hours it gets very grindy.2 found this helpful

Movie Game Dev Tycoon
This game is very creative with great community workshops. As someone who really works in the industry I think their portrayal of the behind the scenes work is pretty decent and fun to do yk, for fun!
Loving the game, plenty of options to choose from. It gives you a lot of freedom with what you would like to do. To have a lot of fun, you have to be a bit creative yourself.
