The Quiet Things

The Game desperately needs a unstuck button or a restart button I love the story but the game won't let me continue I would recommend people to get it but what is the point of getting it if I cant continue it.

Story, writing, voice-acting: incredible, one of the most gripping stories I've experienced in and out of gaming. You will experience a range of stronge emotions during this, most of them not very pleasant, but all the more meaningful. Gameplay and visuals: unpolished, janky, confusing and at times frustrating. There are no characters in the game. You just walk around the areas the protagonist's story take place and trigger dialogue by interacting with items.The voice acting is good enough that I'm okay with sometimes awkwardly standing around and looking at a chair waiting for a line to finish, but the frustration mostly comes from it being SO unclear where to trigger the next line that you'll run around the area multiple times and lose your sense of immersion. Sometimes the subtitles will be out of sync with the voice lines I hope the devs make some kind of improvement in the future to take away this friction, because its a shame to let this beautiful story be sullied by an unpolished storytelling medium. Way too expensive for a too long walking simulator. The story is interesting but the game is full of bugs, bad graphics and really not worth its full price.

The story was so sad, and beautifully told. Even though you don't see physical characters, the dialogue pulls the player through a story everyone should open their mind to. It's a variation of a story so many experience, all over the world. I do recommend it -- below are pros and constructive criticisms: - Pros: -- The story is told very well. I like the use of the journal and voice acting to tell the story, along with memories and walking. I'd say more here, but I don't want to spoil the story. I will say that this story is poignant example of the issues older kids and teens face in the care system, and it's a perspective worth hearing. -- The voice actors did a fantastic job, especially Alice. -- I enjoyed the theme music. - Constructive Criticisms, keeping in mind that this is a smaller team: -- Fatal error when opening the game - While I did finish the game, each time I opened it up (3 sessions), it took up to 10 tries for it to open without a fatal error. Reading the forums, it seems this is happening to multiple people. Solid story, it is a walking sim and yes there's graphics issues, but the story is worth experiencing. The topics definitely are very serious and dark and can hit hard but need to be spoken of especially in the medium. Only con i'd say is the price is high for the length. $15 is more reasonable of a price. But great story
