The Sinking City (especially the Remastered version) is a true masterpiece. Designed for fans of Lovecraft and the overarching Mythos, New Weird, and Supernatural Noir. The writing, the voice-acting, the worldbuilding, the intricate weaving of the mythos into an overarching narrative, the detective mechanics, the character of the city, the creature designs, and MOST everything else comes together to create something greater than the sum of its parts. I remember a time when games based on the work of Lovecraft were few and far between (Whether it was Dark Corners or Conarion, the pickings were slim and of dated or middling quality). However, the original release of the Sinking City seemed to hearken a change in that disappointing trend as now we live during an era FLOODED with direct and indirect adaptations of the MYTHOS. Nevertheless, The Sining City still soars above the competition. One can only hope that the sequel will be able to maintain the level of quality set by this magnificent piece of multmedia.

The Sinking City Remastered is a great upgrade, with improved visuals and a much cleaner presentation while keeping the Lovecraftian atmosphere intact. It runs flawlessly at a clean 120 FPS on my system, making exploration and detective work feel smoother than ever. A solid remaster for both new and returning players. Looking forward to The Sinking City 2!

I bought this expecting a horror game, but it turned out to be a detective game with abit of horror elements. The atmosphere is unique, the story is interesting, and the investigation mechanics are enjoyable. The deduction isn't too difficult—it just requires some reading and paying attention to clues. I also liked that you get to make choices throughout the game, even though the ending is ultimately the one you choose at the end. I don't think there are really good or bad endings; it just depends on your perspective. My biggest complaint is the amount of travelling. Going back and forth across the map feels slow, and I honestly don't think I would've finished the game without using mods for faster movement and teleporting. Combat can also be frustrating, especially on a controller, since enemy weak points are hard to aim at. I ran into a few bugs as well that forced me to reload an earlier save. Overall, I think it's a solid detective game with horror elements. It's not too difficult, and if you enjoy solving mysteries and don't mind the slower pace, it's worth giving a try.

A game with the perfectly valid setting of legally distinct TV-doctor versus eldricht horrors beyond human comprehension. While at times unwieldy and awkward to play, I was immersed and entertained.

Absolute Lovecraftian Ripper. A dream come true for fans of Eldritch tales and classic adventure games.
