About Twice Reborn: a vampire visual novel

If you crossed a vampire, would you protect humanity or embrace the blood?
In Twice Reborn, Mark Delaware a teaching assistant, becomes a newly-turned vampire in a community forced to hide in plain sight. His mentor, Michelson, has trusted Mark to become the Enforcer: a feared arbiter who keeps the quarreling vampiric houses following the Code. When arson kills key vampires in the community, it's up to Mark to either embrace his blood or to find a way to--somehow--regain his humanity.
There Are Sacrifices to Make
Interacting with humans and vampires is a delicate balance. Not all appreciate Mark's decision and not all relationships can last. Some want him dead, others want him for their own. Mark's responses in the perilous community changes their reactions as well as the story's routes/endings.
Survive the Night
Satiate Mark's bloodlust, otherwise he may kill innocents. The opportunities for blood will not always be private nor moral.
Not all are who they seem to be.

This game feels like it's just Christian propaganda. The only way to get "good" endings is to become a Christian and all the writing around that was very heavy handed. Also the game made all the alternative people "less moral".16 found this helpful
It does annoy me that I can't give this game a neutral review, as I think there are good things and bad things in this game, and I feel many of my issues with the game are a matter of opinion, and I don't want them to necessarily drag down this game's value, but ultimately I'm sharing my thoughts and opinions here, knowing that it might or might not be how everyone might feel or want in a game. I have finished several playthroughs, BTW. Pros: - Well written, in that the characters seem fairly well fleshed out and considered (almost to a fault), and the writer had a clear vision in making this game which leads to a coherent story - It's neither too long or too short - The OST is really good!! - The ideas within the story use common tropes in a unique and creative way that I haven't seen before - Diverse set of characters - Almost fully voiced - It includes Christian themes (this is a pro for some and, as I said below, a con for others, including myself) - 2010's nostalgia (in character design, mainly, specifically the twins and Nate being emo, and the design of Dameon & Zhenzhu (which I really liked and reminded me of being a teenager!) Cons - Whilst the choices [i]seem[…6 found this helpful
What I liked: -The religious theme. There are not many video games about religion or politics. -The vampire theme. -It's a very unique game since it's about both vampires and religion. What I did not like: -only 12 pages of save slots (6 saves per page) so it's tough to replay for all of the endings.2 found this helpful
I received both a copy of the game, as well as financial compensation to cover the game. (I was contracted for 60 minutes, but ended up finishing my play through off stream). This does not however affect my review. You can see my full play through here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYDekt_lk5pAsvbmk2R7ISRuL8qGISEhq (Note that at the time of my posting my review the full play through is not yet up). I loved this visual novel. The story had some areas that were a little slower paced than the rest, and I was able to pick up some spelling mistakes and grammatical errors, but for the most part I found the story compelling, the characters relatable and well written. There was a part in the story that broke me emotionally and I had to actually step away for a while before coming back. The voice acting is amazing. The sound effects and music are great and well placed. I felt like the choices I made mattered and I definitely intend to come back to this and try out different choices to see how things change. 9/102 found this helpful
My only real gripe with the game is that I wished it came with a bit of a trigger warning. As the game can throw things at you with no warning. However, even without the warning you can tell that a lot of love and hard work went into this game. There are so many wonderful things to say about this game. Here are a few of them: -It's mostly voice! -The ost has a lot of bangers in it -The characters are amazing. Like seriously I was sad for Belmonte when I learn that Mrs. Violet had died -Different Language selections -You are able to see what the different endings are If you are a fan of visual novels and vampires: I say give this game a chance!2 found this helpful
