UFO2: Extraterrestrials

I really like this type of game and had actually been following the franchise for years. But in the first few minutes of play I found the character attributes are lacking tooltips to explain what they mean. There are also no hotkey hints for what the buttons in the UI do. These are really basic things that every game of this sort should have, and is easy for the developer to add (I'm talking a few days of effort). I don't want to spent a lot of time trying to learn the game, only to find the same lack of effort after putting hours into it.

UFO2: Extraterrestrials is an excellent turn based strategy XCOM UFO Defense type game similar to UFO Extraterrestrials. This game improves on the first with more of the same, but done better, cleaner and with logical progression. More aliens, more weapons, more research and more bang. I really enjoy the addition of the mortars - an excellent area of effect weapon that makes you feel like you have a chance against the alien horde - plus it is fun to use. The modding allows you to customize the experience to be as challenging as you'd like - making it the way you want to play. You decide how to play the game. Very well done.

Terrible game play mechanics and graphics. The graphics look like from game 20 years ago. The first game had way better graphics. I tried to get refund 2 weeks per Steam's policy. Do not purchase.

The firstone was better

Very simular to the first game... UFO: Extraterrestrials To the perfectly honest... Graphics wise it is nearly a carbon copy of the first only with different aliens. The only thing I like in both UFO and UFO2 is that you can choose a specific stat to increase when soldiers gain a level. All in all, it is an interesting yet bad version compared to the original game.

Game crashes everytime the crew gets back home and I try to manufacture something. Crash, crash, crash. Tried the game on another computer, different CPU as I thought it was my Ryzen 9 7950. So tried an Intel, same spot. have to wait till the crew is home for at least 2 days before attempting to build something.
